My fiancé just had her interview. She was not approved today but told to wait one month and check her email.

What does this mean ? We sailed through the paperwork and now this seems like an unexpected bump.

Any information would be helpful.

What happened at her interview?

What did they tell her? Was she missing some documents? Was it the medical? What questions was she asked? Did they keep her passport?

No they didn't keep her passport. Since I posted I know the following.

Our case is under administrative review. Her 221 G says they are doing a further review

They kept our original application book.

They say to look for status ceac.

Did they ask her if she was aware of your court order?

I think they are questioning how we met. I was introduced by a friend who's wife is Thai. I was on holiday and she wanted me to meet some of her friends.

The order also crossed my mind, but it was written on our application sent to my fiancé from the embassy.

I guess it's a wait and see thing.

Been honest about everything.

How is that a suspicious way to meet? Sounds perfectly normal to me.

What kind of questions was your fiancé asked, and how did she answer them? I'm sure the reason lies within.

If it isn't difficult, it isn't worth it.

Well Pattaya is a place where men go for what men go for. However my friend met his wife working for big oil over there. She is from Pattaya.

My fiancé worked for my friends wife family in a restaurant.

The CO asked around her job and point blank asked about working at bars I guess.

There are no tax records to show where she worked. He didn't ask for affidavits so I'm curious there.

The only thing he did was re copy her birth certificate and give her the 221 g and sent her away.

So I'm at a loss. The whole administrative review is a black hole so both she and I are left to wonder what's up with little info.

Ok. Update

My ceac status check says administrative processing. It doesn't say administrative review.

Is there really a difference ?

This is normal nothing difference and consular will check and reviews all your documents again if there nothing wrong or any request important document required,i'm sure after 30 business day they will send your fiance an Email or call her on cell phone to send the passport back to the US Embassy and get her Visa shortly or you also can contact the US embassy in Bangkok : visasbkkiv@state.gov

or be Patient

I am sure also that you will hear something in less than a month. I have found they always say a lot longer. They said 2 months for my i-130 review, heard back in less than 2 weeks--- the passport will be sent in two weeks, it came in 4 days.

221g Visa Refusal

Due to the complexity of the visa application procedure it is not uncommon for a visa application to be incomplete, improperly completed, or to require additional administrative action. If this is the case, the applicant will receive a 221g visa refusal letter. This may also be referred to as a 221g visa denial.

This letter will explain the deficiency in the application and the steps required by the applicant to remedy the problem. There is no additional application fee and often the visa can be quickly approved when the required documents are provided or the application is resubmitted as instructed.

On the other hand the 221g denial may request additional information or documents that may point to a larger issue, such as a criminal record or marriage fraud. If the consular officer suspects there are grounds for denying the visa based on legal considerations, she may first request additional information according to 221g. If the information or documents requested cannot be produced to the consular official’s satisfaction, this may lead to a substantive denial or a waiver situation.

Administrative Processing

Some visa applications may require additional processing time. The decision to place the visa application into this category may come before or after the applicant’s interview with the consular officer. The reason for an extensive application review might include such things as a name hit in a data base, missing or incomplete information, or a decision by the officer that the application needs further investigation.

Although some applications are processed within sixty days, it is difficult to predict how long a visa application will remain in administrative processing status and there are few options for the applicant during this time period. The applicant will generally not be allowed to make any inquiries about the status of their application during the first sixty day period.

Fraud Prevention Unit

If the consular officer suspects that the applicant has submitted fraudulent information within the application or during the interview, the officer may refer the application to the Fraud Prevention Unit. They will investigate the suspected fraud and refer individuals, as appropriate, for prosecution under local or U.S. law. Immigration fraud is taken quite seriously and is a federal offence. A conviction for marriage or visa fraud can have long lasting repercussions in the criminal justice system and in the immigration law system. It is not unusually for federal indictments to issue for immigration fraud and there have been extraditions from Thailand.
