Hello,

I'm new to this forum and getting ready to tackle the K-1 visa process. Everything seems overwhelming and out of reach but I'm trying to take things one step at a time.

My fiancée lives in the Philippines and I recently got to meet her in person back in February. We've known each other for what's getting close to two years now and we are really wanting to bridge the distance between us.

However, I'm confused about a few things and worried I may not be able to get her here.

When filing the I-129F do I not need to include anything in regards to my financial situation? I know this comes into play but I'm not entirely sure where. Or is it really all to be in the I-134 packet I am to send to my fiancée and she is to use it during her side of the process?

Also I'm concerned about whether my financial situation will prove adequate. I'm still rather young and I've been progressively earning more as the years go on. Last years W-2 shows enough income was earned however I quit that job (of which I was employed for 4 1/2 years), took two months off to prepare for my trip and to visit her, then immediately started searching for a job early March.

However, I did not have resounding luck with finding something immediately. I wasn't able to start until late April, as such I am still waiting for two good pay stubs. The job is only part time and possibly temporary due to review periods. Despite that I am earning enough that if I worked the whole year at my current rate I would be above what I need to earn.

So I am wondering, is this going to go against me or should I still be alright? Also, I noticed on the I-134 that things like life insurance, bank savings, and property can be listed. How important are these aspects? Would it be a good idea to get a life insurance policy? I have a good amount of savings and I could possibly list a fair amount of property:

Sorry for the long post, any advice or tips would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your time.

Financial information (I-134) is not needed until the embassy phase of this process.

The I-129F petition process can take upwards of 5 months for approval, then another month at NVC before the case file reaches the embassy.

Alright, Thank you all for your advice. Though, I have read over all the government sites I can find over the topic and many guides including the ones located here but I still can't seem to find any details on the more specific aspects of my questions. Regardless, I am aware that I still have a fair amount of time in regards to the financial support portion of the process now. Hopefully I will be in a sufficient position from the government's perspective that they will approve come that time.
