DS-160 only? Schedule own interview?

Hello,

My fiancé and I are in the last stages of the K1 application process. She just received the first correspondence from Guangzhou. But it only had 1 instruction sheet and a copy of my I-129F. The instruction sheet asked her to fill out a DS-160 online and send in the confirmation page along with a copy of her passport, and 2 passport-style photos. I have been doing some research and found that the DS-160 is now used in place of several other forms, and I am also reading that she will be required to schedule her own interview with the consulate. Is this correct in your experience? We are also uncertain of what we need to do for the medical exam. We are so close and I don't want to make a mistake. Any help and information you could provide would be greatly appreciated.

That sheet is going to be your Packet 3. Please have her prepare the documents as requested, and return all information requested. Once you send this information back to Guangzhou you will receive your Packet 4 Instructions.

Once you receive your Packet 4 Instructions and are confident with the amount of time you will need to fulfill all of the requirements of Packet 4, you can then go to the http://www.ustraveldocs.com/ website and schedule your interview.

You can pay the Interview fee at any time, but refrain from scheduling the interview until you have received and completed Packet 4. Also make sure you allow ample time to schedule and complete your medical (information on this is in Packet 4), because you will need to bring your completed and sealed Medical report with you to the interview.
