Hello, what type of visa are you applying for? You stated you got married at the court house which would be a cr1 visa but you have f2 on your profile, your petitioner should have send to you what you should bring, there is a list they would have given them to tell you what to bring, how many times have your petitioner visited you? You need well rounded proof for this embassy they are very tough, at the top of your page click the guide menu and click which visa your petitioner applied for you and read through for what is suggested for proof to take to interview, and then click the portal and find Ghana and read through post for whatever visa was petitioned for you so you can see what this embassy is like once you have read through or get your petitioner to look through and then post questions for things you don't understand, your proof needs to show a bona fide relationship, your bank statements mean nothing to them so that is a no

Cr1/Ir1 is for citizens filing for spouse. F2A is for permanent residents filing for spouse

Cr1/Ir1 is for citizens filing for spouse. F2A is for permanent residents filing for spouse

Cr1, is US citizen or permanent resident filing for spouse, which is a conditional 2 year green card

Ir1, is US citizen or permanent resident filing for spouse, which is a non-conditional 10 year green card (must be married over 2 years)

F2A is permanent resident filing for a family member

Thanks MrsBonsu.

I think you should check out this: https://travel.state.gov/content/visas/en/general/all-visa-categories.html

IR-1 generally means Immediate Relative-1 (Only Citizens have the privilege to file IR petitions and 1 is the code for spouse. Parent is 5 hence IR-5). CR-1 just means Conditional Immediate Relative.

A permanent Residents filing category or preference starts from "2"(Second Preference) where 'F' means Family-Based and 'A' is code for spouse and children (under 21). So Permanent Resident filing for spouse is under Visa Category F2A.

So your telling the op that they will be filing a f2a visa?

So your telling the op that they will be filing a f2a visa?

I can't determine what OP is filing for but I am dead sure the petition wouldn't have made it to Interview stage if OP filed for the wrong visa preference.

I was just chipping in to clarify your confusion about OP having F2A as the listed Visa category.

It wouldn't be a mistake for OP to have F2A listed if he/she is an LPR filing for spouse.

I'm not confused, I think you should re-read the op's post, and the thread you posted should be re-read

MY TAKE:

Sorry for the back and forth. My comment was related to the part of your initial submission in red above.

I didn't bother to respond to OP's quests since I thought you covered in nicely. I just wanted to help out with your question about why OP has F2A in the profile instead of CR1.

All I am saying is that F2A is not necessarily wrong if the petitioner is a LPR. The fact that they married in court doesn't make it CR1/IR1 but rather if you are a citizen. Hope it is clear now...

I am sure of this because I started my wife's petition as a LPR but converted when i became a citizen (F2A --> IR1)

One advise I always tell people, for example call logs and chat, look for a highlighter pen and highlight important conversations . Do not highlight too much. Light when you were talking about the future, building a family, plans for next years coming. Don't just hand them 1000 pages of call log and chats.
