I am apologize if this has been answered elsewhere, but I didn't find a positive answer in my search.

Wife becMe a naturalized citizen in summer of 2015. Her mother passed away a few months ago. If her father remarries in the future is there anyway to sponsor her step-mother for a green card?

Understanding her father would be remarrying well past my wife's 18th birthday. I'm not sure this matters, but her father or step-mother would most likely be retired and will receive significant financial support from my wife and I.

Thank you in advance for reading and any comments.

She can not sponsor, her father would need to move first.

Have you really thought through the financial side?

Thank you for your reply. Her father would be a permanent resident, not a citizen correct? Can her father, as a legal permanent resident, petition for a spouse to become a legal permanent resident?

Do you know if he would need to meet minimum income levels to petition?

As to your question, this is in the early stages but her father has a pension and disposable income of approximately $1,000 a month and it is likely if he remarries his wife will as well. Additionally, we don't have children and think it is manageable on our incomes.

LPRs can sponsor spouses.

Sounds like he would need a joint sponsor.

Most people in the US on retirement have access to Medicare, their situation would be different

hi

her age does matter, because the only way she could file for a stepparent is if the marriage took place before her 18th birthday

so as said, she can file for her dad, and in turn, he would file for his wife
