Is there a shorter processing time for petitions filed to the lockbox from overseas vs. filing from the US?

Users here have noticed this trend, but it comes on and off. It was back early this year, but might be gone again. Here is a thread about it. http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/357465-usc-petitioner-living-abroad/

It is not officially on the books and you cannot ask USCIS about it. Good luck.

AOS for my husband

I don't know if you are K1 or IR/CR1 but it seems this was only true for the married couples.
I did a K1 and sent my petition from Qatar (while fiance is from Saudi) back in July and nothing was expedited.
Anyways going through USCIS/NVC is the quick part. An expedite will not help you get an interview faster in Riyadh or make them work any faster at the embassy.

Apologize - would be IR1, married 8 yrs.

I did sort of look at dates and notice that trend. For us it's just a matter of general timing because we would like to hit the school break window in summer and minimize the move trauma on the kids.

It looks like a late fall petition would just about get it right for no earlier than May and no later than August. Her remaining behind here to wait unfortunately is not an option.

Thanks for the replies!
