My husband filed the I-130 petition in March 2016. We received the first I-797 on May 13, 2016. The petition is in Nebraska right now. We've been away from each other for over a year now because I left the U.S.A in September 2015 and first time my husband filed the petition was November of 2015 but we didn't hear anything from USCIS, so he filed again in March. We are still waiting.

P.S. I studied in the U.S and got my Bachelor Degree from there so I lived there from 2010 until 2015. Met my husband in 2011 got married in May 22, 2015. We had never been apart during our dating and engagement years but we are apart during the first year of our marriage !!

I tried. You cannot create online request until the processing time is updated with a date after your PD date.

I have been looking at the other topics available and I am a bit confused. After we have the NOA2 (I don't have this yet) do we get notification of any other forms they require before the interview?
I am specifically interested to know about the sponsor, medical exams and police reports etc. Do we need them done before the interview?

I caught the post on voting and resource re-allocation.

We all applied too early and in the wrong year because:

  • Not all those who get a Green Card will be able to vote locally/State level, the citizenship request upswing is less about voting in Nov and more about making sure a person is safe and secure if they feel the rules will change with the new President.
  • And this will make you happy: https://www.whitehouse.gov/omb/overview states "supporting the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) transition to launch the new myUSCIS which makes it easier for users to access information about the immigration process and immigration services. To institutionalize the dramatic improvements that this approach has demonstrated, the Budget supports the Administrations aggressive goal of hiring and placing 500 top technology and design experts to serve in the Government by January 2017"
I am guessing Nebraska is closing a mix of May and June files at present based on the posts, unless of course you come from the Phillipines which strangely has a hit and miss completion of 1-3 months for files, as in our August filers list one has already got their NOA2 ( CR-1 or IR-1 unknown). It is a pattern which seems to repeat through the other months.

Phillipines gets fast tracked due to an agreement with USA because of environmental factors about 5 years ago? The threat isn't there anymore but system hasn't been updated

I can only give you what I've seen and read, nvc wants copies of police reports and other documentation, medical is purely for interview plus most of what you send to nvc but interview wants you to bring originals.

May 5 - I-130 Received

June 17 - RFE Received

August 4 - NOA2
October 3 - USICIS sent to NVC
October 12 - NVC received (69 days in limbo)
? - case number assigned
? - AOS bill paid
? - call NVC to review DS-261 and get IV invoice unlocked
? - IV bill paid
? - submit DS-260
? - send IV/AOS package
? - scan date

? - cc

? - interview date
