After a week and 2 days I finally got the letter from USCIS, result that they didn't accept the translation of my divorce because it was not in full details. Now I need to find someone who can do it, so any suggestion will be appreciated!!

I seen this from the other forum hope it helps!!!

You can hire a professional translator or you can ask someone who is confident enough in both languages to do an accurate translation from the original document. A translator must provide name, signature, address, and date of certification to comply with USCIS requirements.

A format for the certification that needs to appear on the translation, as suggested by USCIS is:

Certification by Translator

I [typed name], certify that I am fluent (conversant) in the English and ________ languages, and that the above/attached document is an accurate translation of the document attached entitled ______________________________.

Signature

_________________________________

[Date] [Typed Name]

yoel: If you are able to, I would also suggest getting that translation Notarized too, it's a few $5 - $10 extra, but at-least you have the peace of mind.... Have the translator complete the translation, but have him/her sign & fill in the blanks, as mentioned by maRYANn15, in front of the Notary.

2016/05/20: NOA-1 - Petition accepted and sent to Nebraska Service Center... So begins the waiting game :clock:

2016/11/02: NOA-2 - Petition Approved (Had to call to find out, no e-mail or text) :dancing:

2016/11/15: NVC Received

2016/12/08: Sent AOS & IV Packages

2017/03/10: Case Completed

2017/04/24: Interview Scheduled

I had applied for my brothers i-130; I got RFE for that as well; it was approved after I submitted additional information that established the relationship like school certificates, photos growing up together etc: anything that could convince that we were brothers.

Now I am applying for my mom; I expect the same. i-130 is only based on providing evidence of your relationship with your parents, brother or spouse.

I grew up in India in 80s; birth certificates were rare then; my mom's era they were practical not there; so additional evidence is always required; affidavits, old passports, school certificates, insurance or certificate of deposits etc.

I am naturalized US citizen and they already should have my affidavits and all the related information; but still they may need more evidence.

I would recommend to USCIS to just do a DNA test and spare us from this misery of getting papers. For God's sake it is 21st century; sibling and parents just do a DNA test.

Another rule I really love is 214b based tourist visa rejection for parents of US citizens; you cannot be a tourist but after 6 months we will give you immigrant visa. Again, DNA testing will solve this problem.

I used to get upset seeing parents of H1B visa holders roaming around in silicon valley; punishment for being a naturalized US citizen; go figure.

I received "Request for Additional Evidence" Friday evening; mailed on Monday October 3rd (day I got an email and text in the evening); RFE was submit my birth certificate showing name of mom and dad. I had already submitted birth certificate equivalent: Matriculation certificate plus an affidavit for my green card processing. It looks like USCIS does not keep records of green card processing or naturalization.

I sent my birth certificate today using USPS express priority mail!

Don't get disheartened if cases around you are being approved and you are not!

How do I know? Case received May 5th, Approved August 4th but they didn't send to USCIS until all the cases in our batch had been dealt with so only just sent on October 3rd (cases around us got approved October 1st). NVC only just received today October 12th - so although approved 69 days ago we got sent at the same time as everyone else - frustrating for us but fair I guess :)

May 5 - I-130 Received

June 17 - RFE Received

August 4 - NOA2
October 3 - USICIS sent to NVC
October 12 - NVC received (69 days in limbo)
? - case number assigned
? - AOS bill paid
? - call NVC to review DS-261 and get IV invoice unlocked
? - IV bill paid
? - submit DS-260
? - send IV/AOS package
? - scan date

? - cc

? - interview date

Greetings May filers,

I filed in June, got sent to Nebraska, where dreams go to die. Supposedly they're already processing NOA2s for ~ the end of May, and I'm wondering: for those of you who have received your NOA2s, did the USCIS case status website ever update to something other than 'case received?' Or did you get the notice in the mail first?

Thanks!
