Will I get any of the money back? You will get your money back if you show up for court on time. If you are a no show, then the money if forfeited. Am I at risk of being deported? Possibly. Depends on the resolution of your case. I have a flight back to canada next week and am coming back to finish classes the following week. Am i okay to travel or will i not be allowed back in the USA. Unknown. It depends on the terms of your bond. Under the term of your bond, you may not be allowed to leave the state or the US. Thank you.

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

Please use the acronyms that people can understand in order to receive help. "DC Drunk"? Googled it but found nothing relevant. Whatever your crime is (disorderly conduct?), if it is not a crime involving moral turpitude (CIMT - now that's an acronym you should get familiar with) then you will most likely be okay. Absolutely do get a lawyer who is also familiar with immigration law to some degree. Keep all the documents from the police and the court in case you apply for GC one day. USCIS is quite reasonable with non-CIMT crimes but you do need to show all the documents. Do not try to get it off the record either if you're convicted. It will only prolong your finding of the right documentation in the future. USCIS has access to all criminal history, even if it's not on the public record.

01/07/2017 (Saturday!) EAD/AP renewal package with new forms received in Phoenix "reception desk"
01/17/2017 EAD/AP renewal case accepted; text/email with receipt numbers was received
01/30/2017 Law firm finally confirms that USCIS has suspended processing all EB2-NIW cases due to new criteria. 
02/23/2017 USCIS slowly starts adjudicating NIW cases again.
04/21/2017 Extended EAD/AP received in mail. Valid for 2 years. 
05/06/2017 Received a massive RFE on I-140 NIW case.

Bond will be returned upon completion of the case. A lawyer will likely charge about $2,500 to $5,000, depending on the local prosecutor's stance on these type of cases. Wyoming can be rough on alcohol cases (I lived in the West - much harsher than other parts of U.S.). (Non-constructive content removed - VJ Moderation)

Though you must still declare it to them for RoC/naturalisation, so it hardly makes a difference.

Get a criminal lawyer.

You will get the money back when your business with the court is over. If you need the money back sooner, your lawyer may file a motion with the court to return the bail money.

You will not get deported.

After your trip to Canada, you should be allowed back in the USA but you might be heavily questioned by CBP upon your return. Keep in mind that admitting guilt or admitting to any wrong doing to a CBP officer may prevent you of re-entering the USA in the future.

Once again get a criminal lawyer ASAP.

he hasnt responded on here? everyone has given good advice! it would be easier if we knew more about what happened.

a lawyer for this case wouldnt be that much depending on the severity..1k max. i dont think he woudl have to worry about it being expunged at this point.. what he would want would be to get the case dropped or to something very simple like 'drunk in public'

hopefully he does take eveyrones advice and it works out!

You are wrong. Not only are expunged records accessible to USCIS (or FBI) but they also make it harder for the convicts to access their own records when they need them (e.g. when applying for AoS).
