My USC wife-to-be paid the petition fee, I paid for the medical, MRV fee etc. Regarding air fares - whoever flies, pays. Dang, there is a decent car's worth of greenhouse gases over the Atlantic due to our trips

Yes it is. The primary consideration is convenience and avoiding transfer/conversion costs. Either of us could afford to pay for the entire process...

I (petitioner female) have paid for much of the costs associated with the visa and permanent residency. My husband paid for his medical exam, etc. in order to get the K-1 visa. He paid for our Korean wedding and the plane ticket to come to America. Of course once he came to the U.S. his job prospects weren't the same as in his home country (he has a Korean law degree, but of course it's not recognized here) so since I am the one working and he is studying, it made sense for me to pay for the costs at that time.

The thing is that we're married now anyway and what is mine is his.

He (USC) paid for the petition filing fee and my plane ticket

I paid for the visa application fee, medical, all other costs in connection with getting all documentary proof together (i did all the paperwork, he signed where needed )

the AOS/EAD fees were paid out of the wedding money we got

My wife is staying home with our beautiful energetic daughter, it is hard to live in Southern Ca. on one income, but for the benefit of our daughter it is worth the sacrifices we make financially for our daughter to have her mom home with her.

As soon as Ako (my wife) gets her EAD she wants to work part-time on the weekends to help out.

I'm paying for 99% but then she did have me stay at her home when I was there..11 days the first time and 14 days the second... So that has to count for something.. 25 x $50(avg.) = $1250 ..Wow she is paying more then I thought.. So I guess more in the 75% area I'm paying.. and it's PRICELESS

I think it was pretty equal on cost sharing. I may have had a few extra expenses like my passport. but it all works out in the end. and we are married and cost sharing goes on. good luck fellow travellers of INS

We are already married and have been for sometime. Since we really don't have money of our own anymore, per se, we are both equally paying for the visa.

I took costs for initial petition, US mailing (and couriering G-325A to India to fulfill RFE) and AOS (including US medical). Pras took costs for consulate medical (in India) and visa app fees.
