Just wondering who is paying for the majority of the Visa costs?

To clarify...the cost of the whole process.

I'm not paying for the entire thing, but a lot...including airline ticket to Korea, some of the cost of the hotel, the cost of a translation, the I-129F application fee..... he will pay for whatever fees are on his end for the visa application, not sure how much those are, and his flight to the US. I make more money and he has four kids.

I was the US citizen male petitioner. My wife and teenaged stepdaughter were the benifitiaries. My wife was a public school teacher of English in Belarus. The economy over there is nowhere near being equal in monetary terms to the USA economy and she never made more than $2500 a year tops with her teacher's salary and side jobs as an English language tutor. So it is obvious that I had to pay for most of the expenses associated with their visas. Likewise for travel expenses to the USA.

They arrived in the USA 2 years ago on March 8 and our 2nd wedding anniversary will be on March 18.

All things being relative...after 2 years of living in the USA they now see that while Americans earn more money, it costs much more to live here. And you have to hustle and struggle to get and keep what you got. Life here is not hassle free or fair. They are beginning to see that the grass is not 200% greener on the other side of the fence. Their fantasy of the super easy American life has clashed with reality. Welcome to America.

"Credibility in immigration policy can be summed up in one sentence: Those who should get in, get in; those who should be kept out, are kept out; and those who should not be here will be required to leave."

We shared in the cost, it did not really mattered who payed for what, because in the end we were together and that is all that matters...

I put beneficiary female even though it is hubby and I, ours is slightly different as out daughter is the petitioner but I would not expect her to pay anything towards it.

We shared the costs. My fiance paid the visa fees, booked my hotel enroute and bought my American plane ticket but I had to pay my own travel costs in Australia for my trip to have the visa interview, and then I had to save up my pension to buy my plane ticket to the US and to move my stuff. It was a struggle for either of us to find the money.

He paid the $170 application fee. I am paying for all of the stuff on my end...medicals, passports, birth certificates, passport photos. He is saving money so that will be used for my flight to the interview.

He is going to come here and drive home with me when it is time so we will split costs for the Uhaul and the drive.

So it is about even I think.

It's a shame we can't all "register" for Immigration fees the way people do for household items
