K-1 Visa how long it takes to process additional information given after the interview?

My fiancee had the interview at Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam on Dec, 21st 2015. As requested on the "blue page" we submitted all papers and evidence of relationship on 12/28/2015. Almost 5 months no information yet. Reply to my inquiries were "waiting for officer to review, first come first serve". Has anybody has the same situation?

And how long it can take to get an answer? Please help.

These fora are full of stories of folks similarly situated as yourself. There are certainly folks that have waited much longer, check out the Asia:South Regional Forum for such examples.

And how long it can take to get an answer?A good question, however, there is no concrete answer when dealing with bureaucracies. The obvious answer: As long as it takes. Please help.

Hang in there, you will hopefully get your answer soon. Doing this can tend to make a person go crazy.

I would check with the VN embassy and inquire why has it taken so long? What did the blue paper say? request for proof of relationship? Did she pass her interview?

Her interview went well, they did not reject it. Asked for proof of relationship, time line report, etc.Those we submitted it on 12/28/2016. But they haven't looked at it yet. To my email inquiries the reply is " waiting for an officer to look at it, first come first serve". It has been close to 5 months since she gave the required documents. I wonder if anybody else in same situation at HCM City, Vietnam who applied for K1 Visa??

Do another inquiry to the VN Embassy and check the status since all required docs have been sent in and completed.

Should not take this long. Check with the consulate in HCMC. Something is not right.

American consulate office in Saigon, not Vietnam embassy.
