Children under 14 year old interview at nvc

Hi there,

I have applied my kids for us visa I'm a us citizen.my children are under 14 I'm curious that what kind of interview will they have? One is 2 year old and the other is 1 year old.interview date is taking for ever to come.can anyone share anything about this.

Uhm... I do not believe they will have an interview per se. I think you will probably go with them, present their papers and that is that.

Thanks for the reply. nvc is taking for ever to schedule my kids date.The status I check says "AT NVC"

ANYONE know what it means and how long will it take to move on?

Hi, if you are us citizen and your children under 2 then they dont need visa.you can simply apply for us passport and birth certificate at us Embassy Islamabad Pakistan cuz ur kids are us citizen.

I did apply for there passport but they said my stay in usa after 15 year was less that's y.So I had to apply immigrant visa now just waiting for there date to come

No he's not but he is in us and has a green card

How long have you been out of usa and did you live usa for the total period of 5 years since you became a us citizen.

I was two year old and lived there 10 years but before I was 15 I came back.my eldest daughter was born in us

Are you in usa or pakistan..I think somebody misguided you.if you have lived in usa for ten years then you don't have any problem Because you have to provid them a proof that you have physically spent 5 years in usa.

Well I went to the embessy I showed all my proofs but they rejected it.They said rule has changed u have to live in the states for 5 year after ur 15 bday.

Birth Abroad to One Citizen and One Alien Parent in Wedlock

A child born abroad to one U.S. citizen parent and one alien parent acquires U.S. citizenship at birth under Section 301(g) of the INA provided the U.S. citizen parent was physically present in the United States or one of its outlying possessions for the time period required by the law applicable at the time of the child's birth. (For birth on or after November 14, 1986, a period of five years physical presence, two after the age of fourteen, is required. For birth between December 24, 1952 and November 13, 1986, a period of ten years, five after the age of fourteen, is required for physical presence in the United States or one of its outlying possessions to transmit U.S. citizenship to the child.) The U.S. citizen parent must be the genetic or the gestational parent and the legal parent of the child under local law at the time and place of the childs birth to transmit U.S. citizenship

For birth after November 14 1986 they required physical presence only 2 years after the age of 14 and this is current law.

She says before she was 15 she came back. So she lived there from age 2 to 12. No two years after the age of 14 so she does not qualify.
We did the same for the baby who was born here. We had to take my husband's school transcripts after the age of 14 to prove he was there for the time they wanted. They gave the baby a US passport after that. We sent them 5 years worth of grades plus college
