Online case status?

Hi,

I received my NOA1 from VSC on the 3rd January 2007. Just thinking of registering to the online case status. My wife has petitioned for me, so is it possible for me to register or my wife has to register.

I read through some of the forums and I keep seeing "Touched" on some of the timelines. What does this mean and how do you know when you casr hase been "touched"?

I'm with you - if someone could let us know about this whle "touched" thing it would be very useful. Where does it show this? Do they have to have actually done something for this to show or can they literally just brush past it on their way to the coffee machine?

You can register online yourself, u just need the receipt number in making a portfolio and the system will just ask you to fill datas. A touch means when the latest updated date on the portfolio section changes without a change on the message.

u need your receipt number thats it.

I didnt know that was possible... I went and made my portfolio on uscis........so touched means they actually looked at it??? I dont know if thats good or bad lol we filed on 010307 there was a touch on 011307 then nada since then... is that normal?????

touch means somebody has seen or opened your case

though it doesnt guarentee any speedy process but yes its totally normal

Timelines on this site are much more useful for giving you a realistic idea of average processing times.

The USCIS dates are just their goal fro maximum processing time, and pretty much useless for getting an idea of the average.
