I hope you can be reunited with your fiance soon and that you guys end up being lucky. However, I think your fiance might want to prepare for plan b and make it up to you, maybe work on a way for you to visit/stay in Argentina after your baby is born so you can still be all together - hopefully he won't need to, but he'd be ready to make it better to his family. Him working and supporting his new family and the three of you bonding instead of being separated.

You read my mind. This is what would really be beneficial to them. Plan B.

Exactly. Posters are not bound to answers that the OP wants to hear on VJ. Both sides are important.

Yes and as much as people don't want to hear it and say it rude and negative down the line I think it ends up helping. VJers are about the realities of immigration, dealing with the process, and getting to the desired end result. Like Mimi said it may not be all rainbows and puppy dogs but if you want/need help VJ will def give you straight answers.

Absolutely right lioness. I've heard stories (not just here but in real life too) of people attending interviews or info passes asking about pregnancy and speeding things up. One interviewer straight out asked them "well haven't you heard of birth control? You wouldn't be in this situation otherwise." If what we say here anonymously bites the OP that much, interviews can be ruthless at times in their approach.

To me the positive I have taken away from this is that the OP and her fiance CAN overcome a ban.

Lioness is sharing her experience. If anything I would be asking her about next steps just in case. How many appointments he has to take? Is there any further cost or paperwork associated with the ban? Is there a possibility for the ban to be lifted prior to the 1 year? etc. etc.

A ban can be overcome when all of the necessary steps have been taken.

Also, some posters have stated that there have been cases where previous drug use was mentioned during a medical and they didn't incur a ban. Hopefully someone with that experience can share their story.

Exactly.. OP should find those who made it through and people like Lioness who had to use a plan b.

There's a thread for emotional support but this post has specific issue can "you will be ok, it shall be well, let's pray for you" etc might not be that helpful.

But good luck to OP

Yeah, I appreciate the helpful comments and those who shared personal/close stories, even though they are generally not the news I'm hoping for. As stated many times, I'm not naive to the severity of this and I am already prepared for the worst. I'm going to continue to hope for the best and for the chance that there is a possibility he will still be here for the birth of his baby.

If you are writing a "they need to face reality" comment without sharing personal insight, you are telling me that water is wet. It may make you feel smart to say it, but you're not adding anything new. I'm already prepared.

I want to know this too. The luckiest person I've seen only got a 6 month ban, I think it was a user from the UK? I could be mistaken. Would be interesting to see link to someone who got away with no ban at all.

Some stuff you have to take with a pinch of salt.

Seems others on this thread have come across such situations.

Yeah that's why I'm asking for a link because I won't believe it until I see it.

OP, check out this very recent thread where it seems that an admitter of marijuana might only receive a 3 month ban. I'm not sure if the ban has been finalized yet, though. Pay attention to Damara's posts. She/he does a lot of research in many threads to help people with their issues. I think he/she might be an attorney.

It's also important to note that the uk seems to be a bit more lax than most with this as of late.

I remember seeing that thread, still a ban of course and was the one I was thinking of, just never quite know if you are getting it straight.

I don't believe that that user has updated he situation either. I wouldn't trust it completely until visa is in hand.
