URGENT!!! Divorce while I-751 Pending (VSC)

Long story short...I filed my I-751 on November 16 to Vermont Service Center last year. Bio on December 14, 2015. Since then the case status has been received. By now, the case has been waiting in line for about six month.

My question is, me and my husband separated last year and he agreed to stay married until my I-751 gets approved...But now my concern is, we have not been living together for the last year (he is working in Florida and I am working in D.C.) and we have not visited each other once. I am worried if USCIS asks for additional evidence, we cannot provide any.

We entered the marriage in good faith, and we provided a lot of evidence to show a commingle of financial assets. I am thinking if I/he should file for divorce now and send in the divorce decree (it can be done in less than a month) before they reach a decision on my case. VSC's average processing time is nine months, but in my case (husband and wife not living together), I am worried it might take longer (my husband is already impatient) and I would rather be honest in the first place and file a waiver while waiting for the decision.

Anyone has been in the same situation before? I really regret that we did not file for a divorce before filing I-751. But it is too late to regret anything now. Anyway, any input will be appreciated!!!
