If you have only met one time this March I would highly suggest you meet at least one more time before the interview! And if it's also allowed down there the attend the interview as well! (It's not allowed all places)

I had a worry too with mine since the Bahamas is a pretty homophobic place, I thought we would have trouble as a same sex couple. But it was very easy and very straight forward it took about 10 minutes and he told me on the spot that I would be approved as soon as he received my medical results. I just kept telling myself that all relationships look different and these officers have to know that by now and that really helped me to stay calm and not fumble about like an idiot  . If they only accepted the average (opposite gender, same race, similar age, etc) couples then I think there would be outrage!

My advice would just be like RoJ10 said, be confident and truthful and the worst that should happen is they might ask for more evidence. But as long as the relationship is true and you guys really do love each other, it should be simple! Good luck!!

Good in theory but not it's not so simple with certain embassies especially those like MENA countries.

I am older than my husband and our hardest time was on the US side. I got called in for an I-130 interview here in the states before they would adjudicate it so our I-130 took 10 months to get approved. The rest was fairly easy for us. NVC was a breeze and, while the interview I think may have been a little more intense than the others that were there, we were done in about 10 minutes. AP took 7 weeks - we were issued yesterday!

As for age difference, I don't know if it was an issue or not. To be honest, my husband and I communicated for several weeks before we even knew each other's ages! In Pakistan, birthdays don't seem to mean much. Most people where my husband is from don't actually even know their true age and he has several friends who married women from their village who were older.

There were things that might have made a difference. I did visit 4 times including going for the interview. I have a POC card and we have a joint bank account in Pakistan. I think they also pay attention to things we don't think about. For example, after we left the interview, I suddenly realized that because I am the only one my husband talks to in English (and we talk A LOT!), he now speaks with a US midwestern accent and uses lots of expressions I don't hear other Pakistanis use. I think they pick up on those things also.

If you put some effort and creativity into your evidence and are well prepared for interview, there's no reason you shouldn't do ok. Feel free to message me for more details if you want. Best of luck to you!
