No need to burn it down, just a couple changes would help to fix a lot.

First would be term limits for all politicians. That would eliminate career politicians who become lackeys for big corporations and lobbyists of special interest groups like the NRA.

Second would be to eliminate or restrict any bills from containing more than what the original biil was meant for. In other words, eliminate the pork.

Those two changes alone would drastically change the way our gov't works for the better, without burning it down

i agree that those changes would help immensely but burn it down because those changes won't happen. simply, our government doesn't work. doesn't work for the better, doesn't work for detriment. it's just coasting. our government has proven inept in the face of the massive changes we must make, as is our citizenry.

I think we have a better chance of making those changes than we do starting from scratch with something that may or may not be successful.

Issues such as these are the reason why I believe there should be periodic reviews of the constitution, maybe every 25 or 50 years, and it should be easier to change. Sure the founding fathers were very smart and the constitution was a great undertaking for it's time, but there is no way they could have predicted over 200 years into the future. The constitution needs to adjust and change with the times.
