Ya, lucky so far everything is smooth. My parents just did medical yesterday.

Do u know how I can get medical for them after they come (we live in hawaii) I tried check but too expensive.

Hope end this month u will get interview day.

Have a great day!

I have a question about medical exam. Do you pick the date for medical exam or they pick it for you? and can you get medical examination done on the same date you schedule for medical appointment?

NVC still hasn't sent my case to U.S. Embassy in Vietnam.

Hey contruable!! It's still not there yet? Have you called and see what the hold up is? They should send it soon. It only takes a few days to arrive there. They ship it pretty fast. They will ship it before your interview most definitely!! You hold a P4 letter so your day is set in stone. Unless you change it, its their responsibility to get your case to the right place. I know once its sent you can call and ask for a tracking # and you can track it the whole way. This is recommended!!

My wife was planning on getting her medical done soon, sounds like she should get vaccinated first. Do you know what vaccines are needed and where is the best place to get them done?

https://vn.usembassy.gov/iv-instruction/ If I were you I would follow this paper. You can get them done locally, you just need prove you have them. It's safer to be sure and do the vaccines where they instruct though. But I'm sure it's a tad more expensive. But I will tell you this: My wife's friend called and showed up and didn't make an appointment she just asked on the phone if it was ok to come. They said they do it in a first come first serve basis and that's it. After she got the vaccines she went to have her medical and passed with no problem. Also she passed her interview with no problems too. A few simple questions and she was done. Took all morning though. Haha.

Since we just finished the interview process and were issued a blue slip and returned and got approved, i would like to offer some advice.

Make sure you bring 2015 tax transcripts and any relavent finacial documents that have changed since filing you AOS

Bring extra pictures besides what you already submitted, especially of the wedding.

Have a list and contcact info for any of the beneficiaries family in the US.

Go ahead and fill out the famiyl tree from vn.usembassy.gov/family-tree/. This was something they asked us to do and could possibly save you a blue slip if done in advance.

Print credit card statements from all you plane tickets. They dont just want to know that you traveled to VN but they also want to know who is paying for it.

Do a detailed time line. Seems obvious but i didnt do one initially.

I hope this advice can help everyone going to interviews in the future and help save time and prevent the stress that we went through.

Thank you Tyler. The family tree has to be filled out each by both petitioner and applicant?

For us they only asked for the beneficiary. I don't think they always require it but it could save you a lot of time if they end up wanting it and you have it already done.
