Congrats PDNK!!! That means contruable and Tyler should receive theirs soon or they already have. Again congrats!! I called and a man informed me that they are still scheduling for July until the 15th of this month. Then they will start around the last week of this month for August dates. I am keeping hope but we will see. I will call again on the 15th to see if an appointment was set. Good luck to you all and I hope your wives (and parents) are here soon. We have been waiting so long now. Have a great June and happy preparing!!

PDNK & BigCatCougar, NVC sent me an interview letter through email at 3:30 P.M. I was asleep at that time. Now, I'm gonna have to book a flight back to Vietnam in June. I wanna wait for interview with my wife & daughter in Vietnam.

BigCatCougar,I hope you will get your interview date soon! PDNK, are you still gonna be browsing this forum or not? lol

I told my wife that she should do medical examination 16 days before the Visa interview, but my wife wouldn't listen to me at all. Originally, I didn't plan to back Vietnam to accompany her for visa interview, but her whole family wanted me to accompany her, so I listened to them. My wife is extremely stubborn; she always want me to listen to her, but she never listen to me. Honestly, I don't think I will have a good time in Vietnam, but I will be really happy to see my daughter. Even if the interview doesn't goes well, I still can bring my daughter back to U.S. because she already got her passport & aboard certificate.

Anyways, I hope the same for you too. I hope your interview will goes smooth, and have a great time in Vietnam with your parents.

You guys will be fine at the interview. You both share a daughter so that, in the CO's eye, is more legit than a married couple without.

Good luck and keep us updated!

Thank you PDNK!!! Yeah, my wait is almost over. I keep calling every Wednesday, but still no interview date so far. It seems you all got your interview date a week prior to your 60 days from CC, meaning the NVC is super slow and they literally mean 60 days you will be notified (referring to the CC letter). The last guy I talked to said they will stop scheduling for July on the 15th. And maybe start for August a week after that. So I am just waiting like everyone else has. I'm so happy you, tyler, contruable, and the others I see on the spreadsheet have an interview date set already. That means that it wont be like last year when so many people were waiting for like 3+ months!!

Again congratulations!! I'm glad you will be there for her interview. You shouldn't have much a problem passing. You have a solid case. Again like I told you prepare for the worst and expect anything. You should be fine. Haha, your wife sounds like a typical Vietnamese woman. Just joking. Have a beer and forget it. There's no convincing her. If she knows what to do then let her do it. Make sure you get your vaccinations first... That will save you some time. You don't need anything other than money for the vacs. Then you can take the proof she has had the required vacs to the board doctor and they will approve her. You don't have to do it like this. My wifes friend did it this way and my wife already has her vacs. We are just waiting to get a letter so she can get the med done. You should do it pretty soon if you are going to leave soon after the interview. From what I read was when her med expires so does her visa. I think she has 6 months though. That's way enough time to do everything. Good luck contruable!! I'm super happy for you and take care of that daughter of yours. Be careful and have a safe flight. PS. Tickets are way cheaper now in June. In July and August they are way more until Sept, Oct, and Nov. hit. So good luck and happy flying (just trying to save you a few $) hehe. Take care bro and keep us updated!!

I just bought my plane tickets. Out interview is July 26th and I bought return tickets for August 6th. I hope thats enough time to get the visa. I had to return on the 6th for work so I just decided it was worth the risk to go ahead and buy her ticket on the same flight.

Sorry, BigCatCougar, I haven't been on this forum lately. 10 days ago, I bought the airplane ticket for roughly 750$. I also bought 5 years multi entry Visa. I did 5 years Visa because I'm prepared for the worst. You are right about plane ticket price in July & August. They are super expensive. I might stay in Vietnam till September, I am not in hurry to return to U.S. At the moment, I'm just waiting for next week to fly back to Vietnam.

According to what you say, my wife can get her vaccinations before medical examination. Am I correct?

Last but not least, I hope you will get your interview date soon! Time goes fast if you do something to keep yourself busy. Don't forget to let me know when you receive your interview date. Bro, Thanks for the tips about vaccinations and flight tickets.

Remember to pay 240K (dong) after the interview so they can expedite her visa delivery. She got it 1 day after it was mail out by the embassy, took the embassy 4 business day to prepare and mail it out.

Right!!! Listen to wong!!! You only have a week and a few days... If you do it normal they will take their time. And if the worst happens... You can arrange for a different flight on the same airline. You need to contact a travel agent or someone who knows how do do this. I was there in January, and I wanted to stay a few days more so... $~70 later I left on a different flight. There's nothing wrong with booking a flight already... It's better to book now and save alot then book the last minute and spend more. Oh and you pay in dong for the change at ticket services. The lady was so sweet and she will give you your new tickets.

Haha me either. I have been calling at least once a week now. This week I will call the NVC twice a week. They are so slow at their job. HAHA!! Anyway, yes that's smart to wait until September. The tickets are so much cheaper at that time. And the flights are not as crowded. I remember I had a row by myself. And yes, get in contact with a physician there that knows about the criteria for immigration: http://www.cdc.gov/immigrantrefugeehealth/exams/ti/civil/vaccination-civil-technical-instructions.html . Follow that link for detailed info. That should help. You will obtain proof for vaccinations and take them with you during the medical exam and the civil surgeon will review them there on site and approve or tell you that you need more. If you follow that guide, it should help. But remember to get in contact with someone who knows which ones you need. That would be the best approach. There are some doctors in HCMC that will do it too but it's more expensive probably. Try locally first and see. And yes I will let you know ASAP when I get the confirmation date!!! Anytime bro and have a safe flight!! And yes good advice. I'm working two jobs to keep busy so time is going pretty quickly. HAHA

My wife was planning on getting her medical done soon, sounds like she should get vaccinated first. Do you know what vaccines are needed and where is the best place to get them done?
