Look at the embassy review for Manila (you'll find the navigation on the top of the page if you're on a computer), there will be a lot of nice to know information posted by previous applicants :-)

If it isn't difficult, it isn't worth it.

 

K1 process

9/24/15: I129f sent

9/30/15: NOA1

11/2/15: NOA2

Delayed processing due to work

3/15/16: Medical

4/28/16: Interview (approved)

Delayed entry due to work

8/12/16: POE Detroit

 

9/4/16: Wedding!

 

AOS process:

9/9/16: I485/I131/I765 sent

9/14/16: Received 3xNOAs by text/e-mail (day 2)

9/14-18/16: Received 3xpaper NOAs 

9/23/16: Received biometrics appointment letter (day 11)

10/3/16: Biometrics appointment (day 19)

11/4/16: EAD+AP approved (day 53)

11/16/16: EAD status changed to card shipped (day 65)

11/17/16: EAD/AP combo card received (day 66)

12/30/16: Notice of interview scheduled (day 109)

Delivered March 8, 2014 AOS packaged delivered to USCIS drop box

Accepted March 19, 2014 Text message with receipt numbers

Biometrics April 16, 2014 Biometrics completed

EAD May 23, 2014 Employment Authorization Document approved and went to card production

TD May 23, 2014 Travel Document approved and went for card production

Receipt EAD/AP May 30, 2014 Received combo card EAD/AP

Green Card Approved July 11, 2014 Approved, no interview. Went to card production.

Green Card received July 17, 2014 GC received without interview

I was told if the interviewer asks my fiancee if she plans to work in the US, that she's not supposed to say yes. Is this true? And if it is true, how would she answer the question?

K-1 Application sent 2-16-16

Received at Dallas lockbox 2-18-16

NOA1, sent to California 2-23-16

NOA2 4-21-16

NVC shipped to Manila 5-12-16

Consulate received 5-16-16

She is supposed to answer truthfully. Most K1's plan and do get a job eventually. She should answer in a way that let's the interviewer know that she is aware of the requirements for her to work (obtain EAD first), and that reassures him/her that she is moving to the US primarily for love, not for work purposes.

You answer HONESTLY, doesn't matter if you work or not .. just be truthful with all answers.

Most questions at the interview revolve around her knowledge of her fiance, his work, where he live and such.
