Given the dreaded blue 22g form what do I do?

I had my interview today, however my happiness was short lived. I was given the blue form visa refusal because my husband (USC) and joint sponsor income did not meet the income threshold. I was told we could submit new information.

Do we have to start the whole process over again

I am so devastated about this.

I really would appreciate your advice on this.

All you need to do is submit a suitable I-864 to the embassy. You do not need to start over. This should be explained on the paperwork you got.

Lots of people get a 221(g) after their interview, myself included. Just supply them with the information they requested and you should be fine. Did they keep your passport? Read the very last line of the 221(g). It should say that "once the documents have been received, the visa will be issued".

During my time, a blue paper indicated a good news or at least all isn't lost yet.

I also got this at my interview for my mother the petitioner and needed to get a joint sponsor. All hope is not lost.
