Yes it is for DCF but not CR-1/IR-1 through the NVC (that would be me and Looky, for example). We will still be assigned interviews by the NVC.

I commented on this earlier quoting three posts. . Did it get deleted? The original title wasn't that bad if people read the first page of replies. The title was changed to K1, then changed again to K1 and CR1/IR1 which is more confusing than the original title. If changed at all it should mention DCF.

Embassy replied to my email.

"medical was recieved on 21st" they will shortly send a letter advising you to book via new website. You may now do this if you wish to save time.

Logic tells me that if you were already in the stack of people eligible for interview (pre May 3), when they open your account in the database to give you a date, they would see you already had one and move on.

I'm doing DCF CR1 route. Had my medical 3 weeks ago, so in theory should have been getting my interview date any day. But given this change I emailed the Embassy yesterday to ask what I should do. They emailed me saying I should get a letter any day instructing me to book an appointment - or I could go ahead and do it now via this system. (my CEAC status also says I am ready)

So I registered and logged on, only to get an error message saying 'not ready for interview'. Which is super frustrating. So I've emailed them again. Will let you know if I get a reply.

In the meantime, of anyone going the same route as me has any success with this I'd be interested to hear how?

We're doing the K1 visa, exact same situation, emailed embassy to confirm, had the same response, but also it read 'not ready for interview' when we tried to book!

Will share any response from embassy as to what to do also!

Just got another email from them saying to book like we've done. This looks like the email we'd have gotten regardless of my original email. It essentially says, "ok we're ready, please book"

Maybe you need to wait for that? And it just let me do it because we were 'ready' weeks ago, and were just waiting for the system update?

I agree. I would assume, and logic tells me so, that you will need to wait until the embassy has had chance to process all of the documents and then when THEY are ready you can go ahead and book your interview online. I don't know if people are thinking that because the forms have been submitted and they had their medical that they can just go ahead and book. I would be inclined to wait a couple of weeks after medical (assuming the DS-160 for K1 has been submitted beforehand) and the readiness form done around the time of the medical before trying to book, unless you receive an email from the embassy stating it is ready.

The now old process has been in place for such a long time that it's going to take a while for this new one to become the norm. I'm glad to be one of the very first (I think) to get it done and out of the way *headache*

I'm the same! Got the email but I'd already booked! ???

I guess it won't let ppl book until it shows as ready on the system, or until they are issued with the email/letter (pkt 4)

I'm actually pleased I followed suit when tricked and slimbo booked, my work colleagues thought I'd lost the plot when I went into a "must book now" meltdown/panic in the middle of the day on Tuesday! Lol I love how this process continually plays with my emotions!! ?
