Congratulations to all those who just received their May Medical and Interview dates.....Jinky and I too.........Jinky's medical exam is scheduled for May 8th and the interview is May 15th. She will try to re-schedule her medical early....maybe May 1st. Anyway, I have searched the site for any information related to the medical exam with child. We have a three year old son who will accompany her for the medical exam...does anyone know what the procedure is for the exam when a child is involved. I guess what I am really asking is...will our son be allowed to accompany Jinky throughout the exam...and will he receive his exam at the same time? Since our son is only three, I can't imagine that they would separate the two of them, but I have never seen anyone post their experience with an exam which also included a child. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Thank you "Geek" for you reply...I have seen the link you provided and I understand the requirements for the exam, but I am trying to find someone who has gone through the exam process with a child.....I thought our son would be automatically included with my wifes exam and included in the visa process with her visa. Do we have to schedule an individual exam appointment for him....will his visa be automatically prepared (of course with proper and required documents) along with my wifes's visa. I thought that any and all children which were listed on the I-130 were automatically included in the process. I have read about children who are given a "follow-behind" status, but that is not something we will consider...we want our son to be able to travel with us when we leave the PI for the US. I guess I am alittle confused now.

hi,

i had this experience..

if u have a child with a foreigner and u are an USC your child will become an USC with an US passport and u dont need any medical exam... but for that u must registrate his birth as soon as possible at the US embassy and ask for an US passport in the same time.

If the child is not having an USC father or mother you must make him an medical exam to immigrate in USA.

I HOPE I WAS CLEAR.
