So after waiting 3 weeks for the NVC to contact us we contacted them. We now have our LND case number for London and the paperwork is on the way to the embassy. Can't find an answer for sure on here but does this mean I can now book the medical or do I need to wait for the embassy to contact me and receive the case file first?

Yeah I was just reading through that :) Seems to suggest that I can even though we haven't received the physical I-797. However we DO have the case number and the NVC confirmed its enroute to the embassy. Just don't want to book it too soon and cause an issue with it thats all :(

I'd book it for either the end of this week or sometime next week. Give it a chance to get to London. You don't have to wait for the paperwork.

Cool thanks for the info :) Planning on booking ti for a couple of weeks time anyway as I'm still waiting for my vaccination appointment at the dr surgery in 2 weeks. Need to have that before the medical anyway :)

The I-797 they refer to is your NOA2 from USCIS. You can go ahead and book, but if you don't have your police certificate or all your shots tended to, I wouldn't rush the appointment,

I got the vaccinations and police certificate in advance of it being processed at NVC, once I got NVC number I booked for the next day I could make to London, a week later. This was a few days after I received packet 3 letter from London, but this wasn't requested, or required.

My signature should give you an idea of timescales. Currently waiting for interview date packet 4 (2 weeks after medical :()

I thought it was only K-1 and DCF CR-1/IR-1 that book their own and those of us being processed by the NVC still wait for our interview date to be sent to us?

Damilolly - is your time,one correct that you are an F-1? If so, I'm sure you also fall into the category of having your interview assigned for you by the NVC as the NVC process F-1 category immediate family visas.

Hi,

I got an email from NVC today to say I'm in the queue for an interview date.

Should I book the medical now or wait till have get the interview date?

Also, what vaccinations did you go for and why?

Wait to get the interview date from NVC. You will have 4-5 weeks before the interview to attend the medical. Make sure you go at least a week before the interview so your results get to the embassy in time. The shots you need are listed in this K1 thread, first post.
