yeah thats what i was wondering that its for August turn time and its November now. do you have the USCIS online account? try to email the immigration officer from your online account, at least they will tell you if you in line to schedule interview or not. My 6 months are due on 12-1.

whats the outside turn time? 6 months?

I just read fellow Houstonians reply. I called few months back to USCIS... They told me that application is sent to Houston office and they will schedule it..

I believe.. Houston office is packed with loads of applications therefore it is taking time.

Well, we finally got our 'interview scheduled' notice yesterday. We live in Dallas and they appear to be a bit behind the rest of the country, but we are all set now for December 9th.

Does anyone know if the oath ceremony generally takes place on the same day, two weeks later, or is simply unpredictable? Anyplace I could check for the situation in Dallas? Also, when exactly can my wife apply for a new passport? On the interview date, or ceremony date, or...? What document(s) will they provide so she can apply for a passport asap?

You're welcome. From what I've read, this new software slowed everyone down with an IOE number, and Dallas appears to be a kind of central hub for immigration processing, but they seem to be moving ahead again.

Nope, it doesn't. Received the email Thursday, no update on my case online on the myaccount site until now. So it looks like I'll have to wait for the letter in the mail...

My only concern is this: my wife and I will go to Germany for a Christmas vacation, and it would be annoying if they scheduled the interview during that time and I would have to go through the hassle of rescheduling. Does anyone have experience with rescheduling due to travel abroad?

Just left my interview and it was a breeze! 30 minutes, six simple questions, trivial reading and writing "test". Went over the application, updated foreign travel history, amended the oath to strike out "so help me God", and I was out the door.

Filing after 3 years of being an LPR, the interviewer didn't want to see any extra proof, marriage license, or wife's birth certificate.

Now waiting for the Oath letter

I was finally able to see the pdf online... Interview is scheduled for 12/16, one day before we fly out to Germany! No need to reschedule anything!

Just got done with the interview @mt laurel NJ. officer said new system is the cause of delay , also it was not working today. They did a paper based interview. I had to go back to electronically sign and do the oath. Only god knows when

they gave me a form saying I passed the test but a decision can't be made at this time.

Just came back from the Naturalization Ceremony! After 12 years in the US, I'm finally a citizen!

The ceremony was held at Campbell Heritage Theater, there were 252 people from 45 different countries.

They started letting people in at the time specified in the oath letter and it took about 1.5 hours.

They also had representatives from the Passport Agency and Voter Registration table.

I wish you all good luck - hopefully you'll all get your certificate soon.

Interview: Date of your interview
Oath: Date Oath taken
Form type: NBC or IOE form type (First 3 letters of your receipt number)
Field Office: Your Local USCIS office where you will have the N-400 interview
