N-400 May 2016 filers

I think for many of us it's not a matter of it taking a month or two longer, but (especially for me) one where there is a lack of notifications like the ones we've been receiving all along. I was able to view my case statuses online and I was also sent the notices in the mail. So even if something were lost in the mail, I could print a copy of it. Now with no online notifications, and no guarantee that our mail won't be lost/returned, we are left not knowing if we have possibly missed the interview/oath ceremony.

The excuse that this "new and improved" online notification system will not give us online updates just doesn't fly.

Who says there won't be an online notification, once an interview has been scheduled? Or do you know of any applicant who was scheduled for an interview, who did not get an online notification? You can still sign up for text and email notifications, and you can look up your case status online. Even if there is a little delay with the new system, I really think there is no need to be concerned.

Typical time frame (at least in Boston) is 4 – 5 months (submission to interview) or 3 – 4 (submission to interview letter), bearing in mind there is a month lag between the letter and the interview. Some exceptions go up to 6 months though…

With this in mind, we (May filers) should get letters in August – September and have interviews in September – October

If you apply this theory to April filers (one month behind) it works, they are getting letters in July – August for interview in August – September

What got us desperate is that there is not online update to “in line” status after biometrics,. I guess this is the new norm with UCIS

The normal processing time you are talking about applies to people who are using old N400 forms (NBC case numbers) and they do still get inline for interview updates. Those who are using new N400(IOE case number) do not get inline for interview updates. We r not desperate just because we r not getting inline for interview updates but because the field offices are not conducting interviews for IOE cases as they have not yet transitioned to the new ELIS system for new N400.

Users in same trackitt you have mentioned have done some status check where out of around 500 sample cases filed after mid April, around 10 IOE cases have been scheduled for interview while more than 200 NBC cases are scheduled for interview. Those interviews for IOE cases seem to be tests for the new system. So if 40% of April NBC cases have their interview scheduled but only 2% of April IOE cases have their interview scheduled, you can't your theory applies to IOE cases.

At some point, the field offices will transition to the new system and start scheduling interviews to IOE cases, we r just hoping that it happens soon.

Ty, I actually called to see what the delay was and was told that L2 was not available due to high call. To call tomorrow and out of nowhere 20 minstrel later I got a text editor saying we are scheduled ..I will certainly call in the morning to see if our date will be given FINGERS CROSSED
