Stamped the passport yesterday (5/1/17) in Atlanta.

Original appointment was at 09:15am but seen around 10:00am due to busy Monday.

The rep was very professional and kept the GC and said that they haven't touched my case yet.

Stamp is valid for one year until 2018.

354 days and still waiting!... I am hoping to hear something this or next week.

Cheers!

ATL filer too here. GA seems slower than some other states from what I see so far.. best of luck!

Did you go there one month before the extension letter goes out or one month before the expired GC?

I'm a VSC filer from Atlanta and was approved on 5/2/2017

Mailed I751 on 5/23/16

Biometrics for I751 on 6/29/16

N400 submitted on 4/24/17 - I believe this triggered my approval of I751 since I still see they're processing applications from February 29, 2016 according to their website.

Wow, congrats! Definitely good to hear although it makes me a little nervous...Mine was received on 5/19. Did you approval come from VSC or ATL field office?

I believe it came from VSC. My application number starts with EAC(Eastern Adjudication Center) which is Vermont.

Hi Guys,

I'm new here, i just found this forum :) I have a couple of questions about the May 2016 ROC. My NOA is dated May 9th 2016 and i haven't heard anything yet. I'm getting nervous 'cos i noticed people who have a later date have gotten theirs.

Secondly, How do i get another extension on my status? since my NOA expires on May 8th this year. I don't have a current passport and i can't afford a lawyer now to get advice on what to do.

First, try not to worry too much... there are major delays on processing I-751s and there are certainly lots of people still waiting.

Your proof of status (NOA letter) extends your proof of status (not your status itself; that is current throughout the processing) until the 1yr anniversary of your green card expiration, not one year from the date on the letter, so you probably have a little more time.

If you have not received an approval notice 30 days before the anniversary of your green card expiration, make an appointment at your local USCIS office (the same place you went for your biometrics appointment) to get an I-551 stamp. Usually they'll put the stamp in your passport, but since you don't have a current one (incidentally, you should probably renew your passport if you can) you should bring 2 passport style photos of yourself and they can put the stamp on a different document. The stamp is usually good for another year, and will prove your status until you get your new green card.

Thank you so much for that prompt response. Unfortunately, my GC expired on May 8th, 2016 so i have until the 8th of this month. If i don't need to travel or present the proof of status to any employers, is it okay if i get my I-551 stamp after the 8th of May? Since my status isn't expired after that date. I have my own business and have been travelling a lot and i only just remembered this issue this week.

Yes, as long as you don't need to provide physical proof of status to an employer or to travel (which you can't do without a passport anyway) there's no immediate rush to get the stamp.

How long would it take you to get a new passport? If there's a way to expedite a new passport, I'd do that, and then get the stamp in the new passport. (It's easier to keep hold of than another random piece of paper)

Great! It takes a while to get a Passport from my Embassy here in DC, but i'll start now. Hopefully it shouldn't take more than a month. Thanks a lot.

Does the approval rate depend on your address? I'm seeing a lot of VSC approvals lately with NOA dates before and after mine and I was wondering if that's why. Did anyone from NYC get approved yet?

Oh, I didn't see that your local office is NYC! I might be close then. Same NOA1 date, biometrics is a few days after you. Getting excited!
