That one year extension is counting the time that green card expired or one year after NOA extension letter?

It's a one year extension from when they stamped my passport yesterday. So I have proof that I'm permanent resident until April 2018.

I know, but I was thinking that one year extension we already have is from the date of green card expired. For example I got my green card on 19th of July 2014, and I got my extension letter on 25th of May. I thought I should go for the stamp on June (in 2 months) if I don't hear anything in next month.

I get what you mean now. Hopefully it doesn't matter since I think we will be getting our new green cards in a few weeks/months!

my NOA date is may 15th. I already scheduled my infopass for May 1st. Just in case, you never know what might happen tomorrow, and while I am there  , I can check the status of my application etc.

348 days and counting!!!!

P.S. : I have been doing some adjustments on both April and May google documents online. It seems like the magical number is somewhere between 352 - 356 days to hear something from them....

So, if you are around that ball park, I would be getting ready to hear something from them....

Thats my two cents!

May 3rd - Send to Lockbox Chicago

May 4th - Signed (Fedex Overnight)

May 12th - RFE (Send back because of incorrect fee)

May 14th - Send to Lockbox Chicago

May 15th - Signed

April 1st - Email notifications received (12:20am)

I am also waiting. I have updated my address on February. My case is a good faith marriage waiver case. It will be frustrating to receive a RFE or interview at this point.

Let's see what happens.

RFE for waiver cases are almost always certain. There is a recent instance here where a waiver case got approved without RFE or interview but the ROC application was supported with a massive amount of evidence that included a positive letter from the ex spouse. You may not need to go that far but you might get lucky if you included very good supporting documents.

Good Luck!

The reason I asked was the closest office to me is more than two hours drive, I want to be sure if I get there, they do stamping for me.

Anyway my passport has been expired. I called them and they told me you can just show up with 2 picture and we can do it for you! Is that correct?

Yes, they can produce a different document if your passport is expired. The handy part is that you'll just be able to carry that document instead of the expired green card AND letter. That's why they need the 2 passport-style photos. The new document will have the photo on it and will replace both. Of course it won't work as a travel document (you'd still need a valid passport to get into another country, since the green card/new document is only good to enter the US).

Is your timeline updated?

Good lord each of them has their own rule

I would suggest starting a new topic (thread) asking about your local office, and what others have experienced. It does seem like there is a large amount of variation from one local office to another as to who can be there with you, cellphone policies, and whether they will issue stamps "early" - honestly, what possible difference could it make to them to stamp a passport before the extension expires?! So ridiculous!

Hi everyone.  I had my wife processed through I-751 with VSC...

I-751 mailed: April 31st, 2016

NOA date: May 6th, 2016

Biometrics: June 17th, 2016

Approval date: April 17th, 2017

Letter received: April 20th, 2017

Waiting for a green card to come.  We had our package reviewed with a lawyer before we sent it in to avoid any RFE or further trouble.

Hope a long wait would be coming to an end for everyone soon.
