Just got a letter today from USCIS. Thought it was an RFE since it was just a letter without a card inside. Open it up, and it says that we're approved and should receive the new card within 60 days!

VSC filer btw, so it looks like VSC is starting to work on them.

The online status didn't change though, still just showing the original My Case was Received.

Also, looks like they've redesigned their green cards and will start issuing the new design from May 1. Will see if they hold up sending the card so they can send the new version or if they'll send the old version quicker.

Congratulations! 👍🏽You must be the first May filer from VSC to be approved!

Cazzers, this probably happened because your DOB was updated recently, so they might want to run it again..

Probably. I really hope to be done with this process within the next month. So, besides you and I, who else is still waiting from CSC from the May filers?

I'm the Beneficiary

Write a cover letter that explains why you don't have the things you don't have, and can't get. (Example: I am not listed on his credit card because I have insufficient personal credit in the US, etc.)

If you don't have bills with both names on them, do you have some bills in your name and some in his, but they both go to the same address. Explain this in the letter. (Example: He pays the power bill, I pay the cell phone bill but they both come to our home address.)

Include statements for insurance etc where both your names are listed.

Are you listed as an authorized user on his credit card? If so you could get a statement to that from the bank.

As far as the lease agreement, your father-in-law write a letter to the effect that you and your husband live at his property at **** ***street, ***,*** etc, and that you pay $*** per month rent. Then you all sign it. Voila! You now have a rental agreement.

Are you listed as beneficiaries of each other's wills? Medical Power of Attorneys? If not, you can easily draw up wills and sign them and send copies to USCIS.

Basically, provide whatever evidence you can, and list it on the letter. Then explain why the other items do not exist. You may still get an interview, but USCIS will eventually understand that not everyone uses joint bank accounts, and that doesn't mean they're not really married.

Worst case is interview, and even that's not going to be all that bad. Ultimately, almost all ROC applications are approved. If you're still married, there's almost no chance you will be denied in the end. It just may take more explaining.

Is your timeline updated?

I am also waiting. I have updated my address on February. My case is a good faith marriage waiver case. It will be frustrating to receive a RFE or interview at this point.

Let's see what happens.

I did an infopass today at the NYC USCIS (Federal Plaza) to get an i-551 stamp. My NOA extension letter is expiring soon. The whole process was very quick, took around 5 minutes for the whole thing. I asked the immigration officer if there is an update on my case. He said the process now takes 1-1.5 years.

No restrictions. I actually wished I took my laptop with me. Might be only for NYC though because most people don't have cars.

If I have to, then it is San Francisco office. I am not planning to drive (>40 miles)  in this traffic. Wish there are no restrictions here too

That one year extension is counting the time that green card expired or one year after NOA extension letter?
