That's confusing. Even when my husband called the number the letter said to call if something was incorrect, they told him to file the i-90, which is also what I've read in various places online. It seems to have a field that is specifically for this kind of thing, too. I wonder if they changed the proceedure?

Hi all,

I have tried to send an inquiry online to USCIS online. And I can not submit the information while everything is correct but the top of page show the sentences like this :

The following error(s) need to be corrected: You must select the Form Number associated to your Receipt Number. The Form Number you selected does not match our records for that Receipt Number.

But I fill out all correct as the NOA I-797 form I got in hand. So, what is wrong? Please help!

Did you use the receipt number shown in your NOA or the one in your biometrics? I had the same problem before using the one from the biometrics that you also used for the online case status. But I used the other receipt number from the NOA and it works! If either way doesn't work you might have to call them for it..

Just tried to check my status with the receipt number on form I-797C and got the following error message:

Validation Error(s)

You must correct the following error(s) before proceeding:

  • You are attempting to add a receipt number that does not exist in My Case Status. Please check your receipt number and try again.

I have made sure there are no typos or dashes, tried lower case, upper case, etc., and still get the same message.

Has anyone else seen this?

Are you trying to use the case # listed on your green card extension letter? If so, that's why you're getting that error. You want the case # listed on the biometrics letter (there are 2, one of them is from the NOA for the extension letter, the other is the case # to track status).

5/21/2016: Mailed I-751 packet to CSC

5/23/2016: NOA1

7/29/2016: Biometrics Appointment

11/22/2016: I-751 Approved!

Also, Global Entry doesn't work during the ROC period, so I can imagine it's at least mildly frustrating for frequent international travelers who have already paid for the 5-year time period and lose, say, a year of that time due to slow ROC.

I was told by CBP at MIA to simply continue using the Global Entry lanes, and instead of using a kiosk, to simply approach an agent and show him my papers: Expired GC + Extension letter + Global Entry Card.

Do you have a different experience?

After submit an inquiry! I see the respond like this:

Your application or petition is currently within the posted processing times. An inquiry may not be created at this time. Further information about recent processing times can be viewed on the uscis.gov webpage.

If you have other questions regarding your application or petition, contact USCIS Customer Service at 1-800-375-5283 or 1-800-767-1833 (TTY)

What does it mean? I can not understand clearly.

Yes I completely agree with you. What is the big deal? Why are people in such a rush to get the unconditional Green Card, constantly looking at this forum at timelines, submitting case inquiries if their application goes one day over the published processing time...crazy and unnecessary.

Everyone gets a 12 month extension letter so all you have to do is completely forget about it and get on with your life. That's what I did and sure enough my Green Card arrived today. In fact I had completely forgotten about the whole thing since I filed the application in May! I filed it, then didn't give it another thought until i opened the letter with the Green Card this morning.

The reason why I just filed and forgot about it, and was just happy to get on with my life in the meantime, is because I had absolutely nothing to worry about as my marriage is 100% genuine and I always knew there is zero chance of not getting approved.

I suspect that the reason why those people on this forum who are getting so worked up and anxious about their applications and wondering if they will get approved, be called for interview blah blah blah........is because they have a guilty conscience..........

Think about it...

I'm not anxious because I feel guilty about it at all. I'm anxious because I want to me done with all of this. It's a pain.

Oh, that's really good to hear, Nikkosan. Thanks! The threads I'd found here said you couldn't use it during that time. We haven't gotten it yet and were sort of holding out because of that, so this is good news.

I hear ya!

I travel a lot, and my GC will expire in January (with travel plans already set up for next year). It was one of my concerns, and that's why I called CBP.

Glad I could clarify this for you. All the best for your ROC, I'm a November filer, so still a long road ahead!

My approval letter came in the mail today!! I filed on may 10th with a divorce waiver. I was very scared because I expected an RFE due to the waiver but got approved right away :) also, my status was not updated online so needless to say I almost my pants when I saw a uscis letter in the mailbox, since I was expecting an RFE. Today is a good day. My boyfriend and I got our offer on a house accepted and my greencard was extended :) good luck to anyone still waiting!

"got approved right away"

not really - people have been getting approved for weeks now. Shame to see many married couples are still sweating it out whilst divorce waivers are pushed through the system.
