Congratulations!

If God called & picked your name up, you actually will have been approved.

My filing location is at Vermont Center, May, 2016 filter. We got to wait.!

Yeah, I don't think God has anything to do with it. Unless God is the USCIS director?!

It's very simple: California Center approves their applications at 6 month, Vermont is at Nov 2015. I am Cali and I am approaching 7 months of waiting pretty soon. Why are you so anxious of getting this gc? Don't you have an extension letter?

I've been wondering that myself why so many people are getting so anxious! Everyone should have their cards and the extension letter. So there should be no issues with travel, or work authorization, or getting a drivers license. It's not like it's the geen card application where a lot is on hold or at stake until the card is approved.

This is just a matter of time before the conditions are removed, unless there is a real underlying reason to be nervous. There's so many other reasons to get stressed out in life so why add another one?! Just sit back and let things happen when they happen! Worst case it takes a few months longer and your citizenship application window will open up.

Have you guys seen what's happening with the citizenship interviews? They are not approving anyone at this moment, due to background checks not being done: https://judiciary.house.gov/press-release/house-judiciary-committee-uncovers-uscis-fails-conduct-background-checks-immigration-applicants/

My window opens in March and I intend on sending the application either late March or early April, do you guys think this will get fixed by then? Or at least until it's time to schedule our interviews? *Fingers crossed*

Yes I completely agree with you. What is the big deal? Why are people in such a rush to get the unconditional Green Card, constantly looking at this forum at timelines, submitting case inquiries if their application goes one day over the published processing time...crazy and unnecessary.

Everyone gets a 12 month extension letter so all you have to do is completely forget about it and get on with your life. That's what I did and sure enough my Green Card arrived today. In fact I had completely forgotten about the whole thing since I filed the application in May! I filed it, then didn't give it another thought until i opened the letter with the Green Card this morning.

The reason why I just filed and forgot about it, and was just happy to get on with my life in the meantime, is because I had absolutely nothing to worry about as my marriage is 100% genuine and I always knew there is zero chance of not getting approved.

I suspect that the reason why those people on this forum who are getting so worked up and anxious about their applications and wondering if they will get approved, be called for interview blah blah blah........is because they have a guilty conscience..........

Think about it...

People need to chill a little bit. This is not not that serious. We all react to life events differently. Some people like to be anxious almost about anything while other don't stress at all. Being anxious doesn't mean their mariage is questionable. There's no need to be so harsh on each other behind our computer monitors. Some people have been ellegsl or out of status for a while so getting to finally get a ten year green card give them some peace of mind. So, let who wants to be stressed out do it. No need of negativity.

I suspect if I (and you) had not come from such a low fraud country we might not be so confident and more "fearful" of the US immigration process. Yes I am sure there are some dodgy applications and they are right to be nervous. But if I was coming from a country where fraud was more prevalent or my circumstances were not as clear cut as mine (middle aged Brit marrying a middle aged USC who I've known since college) I might also be more nervous and keen to have it all done.

Also, Global Entry doesn't work during the ROC period, so I can imagine it's at least mildly frustrating for frequent international travelers who have already paid for the 5-year time period and lose, say, a year of that time due to slow ROC.

Just tried to check my status with the receipt number on form I-797C and got the following error message:

Validation Error(s)
You must correct the following error(s) before proceeding:

  • You are attempting to add a receipt number that does not exist in My Case Status. Please check your receipt number and try again.

I have made sure there are no typos or dashes, tried lower case, upper case, etc., and still get the same message.

Has anyone else seen this?
