Received my biometric appointment but they've scheduled for my mailing address in South Dakota instead of my physical address is Alaska. The two addresses are over 3000 miles apart! In three days time! What is the point of having a physical address field on the form if they take no notice of it?! And I attached a note to the back of the form explaining that I needed the biometric appointment to be in Anchorage. I just knew they'd mess it up. I did look at the possibility of flying to SD for the appointment but it would cost $1000 and require a change of planes and a stay in a hotel on Sunday night.

So. Early Monday morning, I will be on the phone to USCIS trying to sort this mess up. It doesn't help that the letter says that if you don't turn up to the appointment, your application will be considered to be abandoned.

They did a similar thing with our AOS interview.. When it comes to citizenship, I'm not going to apply until we've settled down in one place.

They also scheduled my biometrics closer to the mailing address. I ended up doing a walk in to the location nearby and it wasn't a problem. Maybe you can try that?

Hey all! Been a bit MIA since we are in the middle of home construction and its the end of the school year (the worst). But I have updates!

We received our NOA on June 6th and then the Biometrics letter a few days later on June 10th. My husband is scheduled for his Biometrics this Wednesday, June 22nd at 2pm. I wasn't expecting it so soon, but I don't mind it either. :dancing:

I'll update the spreadsheet and my signature. Do we continue posting in the May thread as we receive news or do we transition to the current month as we wait for more news? I don't remember what we did with the I-130 lol.

Hope all is going well with everyone.

Good Morning to all from sunny California :),

I have my biometrics appointment on 06/27/2016. My husband is at work, so I'll go alone with UBER.
My question for you is, where should I put my mobile, because it's not allowed? I need it to call UBER.
Does USCIS has some place at the entrance where I can leave the phone, my purse while I'm inside?

Thank you guys as always

Still no Biometrics letter for us, with a receipt date of 05/06 at the CSC. Called the 800# today, and all they could do was open a request for investigation with the local field office.

02/07/2014 NOA2

02/25/2014 Case received at NVC

03/28/2014 Case Number assigned

04/01/2014 DS-261 Available and completed

04/07/2014 AOS and IV bills paid

04/09/2014 Sent AOS package

04/10/2014 AOS package delivered to NVC

04/12/2014 DS-260 completed

04/14/2014 IV package sent

04/15/2014 IV package delivered to NVC

04/17/2014 NVC says "one piece of mail" regarding case received, can't specify which one AOS or IV

04/21/2014 "Two pieces of mail received", so AOS and IV packages both logged in.

05/06/2014 Case Complete.

05/13/2014 Interview scheduled

06/12/2014 Interview at Kiev Embassy

06/12/2014 Visa Approved!

Still waiting on the biometrics letter here, too. We'll call the misinformation line again on Friday if we still don't have it since it will be past 30 days.

Glad to see nothing has changed with USCIS.

5/21/2016: Mailed I-751 packet to CSC

5/23/2016: NOA1

7/29/2016: Biometrics Appointment

Called USCIS yesterday morning and they advised the same. Walked into the ASC in Anchorage at about 11am yesterday morning and they did my biometrics for me without any problem. They said that it was not the first time that USCIS had sent appointments for the mailing address instead of the physical address - they had already had people in this summer who are in Alaska on vacation. Pleased to have got the biometrics out of the way, after a stressful weekend. Now the wait starts again.

At our local office, they just told everyone to turn phones off, but you are allowed to bring it in. There is no airport style security there, just some guy sitting at a desk telling everyone to turn phones off.
