Just quick updated from us.

VSC cashed our check today, 05-24-2016. Bank statement indicated: "VSC FIELD OFFICE PAYMENT"

Now waiting for our NOA1.

Does it really take 2-2.5 weeks to deposit the check? Seems like so long...I would've thought that they would deposit it right away since it's $$$...

This waiting is making me nervous...I wanna make sure they are not sending my package back.

Sure does. They don't deposit the checks - they convert it into an electronic debit. Not sure if that's why it takes a couple of weeks or if the envelope just sits there until someone gets around to opening. Naturally the NOA1 is the delivery rather than open date :-)

Just sent ours into CSC today! A little nervous because we'll be moving across the country in a few months, so it'll have to be transferred to VSC in the middle. :\

May 23 - May 27, 2012 - Met in person for the first time

Nov 30 - Dec 10, 2012 - Second visit, my first trip to the US!

Apr 13 - Apr 30, 2013 - Third visit and now officially engaged

May 1st, 2013 - I-129F package sent

May 7th, 2013 - NOA1 email notice received

May 13th, 2013 - Hardcopy NOA1 received

Jun 29 - Jul 7, 2013 - Visited me in Canada for my birthday

Aug 1st, 2013 - NOA2! (Email & Text)

Dec 11th, 2013 - Interview in Montreal: APPROVED!

Dec 18th, 2013 - CEAC status changed from AP to Issued

Dec 12nd, 2013 - Email from Loomis that Visa was picked up at consulate

Dec 27th, 2013 - Visa in hand!

Dec 29th, 2013 - POE together <3

K1 Visa total time: 241 days from mailing i-129F to visa in hand.

Apr 26th, 2014 - I-485 Package sent to Chicago Lockbox, including EAD and AP applications

May 1st, 2014 - NOA1 received for I-485, EAD, and AP

May 27th, 2014 - Biometrics appointment

Aug 12th, 2014 - Interview & Approval

AOS total time: 109 days from mailing I-485 to approval.

ROC Timeline:

May 24th, 2016 - I-751 Package sent to CSC

May 26th, 2016 - NOA1 receipt date

June 3rd, 2016 - NOA1 received in mail

July 28th, 2016 - Biometrics letter received, appointment for Aug 12th

So I have a question. My state driver's license expires on the date my green card does. What do I do?

Apply for a new one using your NOA1 (when you get it) as your legal status proof. In my case I got a letter from the CA DMV telling me it was going to expire and to send the renewal form back together with a legal status document. In my case I sent a copy of the NOA1 which stipulates the one year extension.

I could have gone to the DMV but I reckoned that there was more chance of a central office understanding what the NOA1 was rather a local DMV.

Also, I feel that if you send a money order the NOA1 process goes a little faster than having to wait for a check to be cashed.

My timeline data was deleted from the table I guess when someone was updating it. Not a big deal.

I had put my data again in google docs link provided.

Our check is not cashed also , 8 days after CSC received our papers. I started to worry but I see it is not only ours .

My USCIS Journey...

 

I had an I-485 filing already submitted through an employment-based application. Post-marriage, I submitted an I-130, which after being approved was interfiled with the existing I-485.

Interfiling/AOS Timeline:

01/03/14 - Day 274 - Interfiling request received by USCIS

04/03/14 - Day 364 - Interfiling service request sent

04/30/14 - Day 391 - Second interfiling service request sent

05/19/14 - Day 410 - Email sent asking for case status update

06/04/14 - Day 426 - Response received that I-485 was transferred to NBC

06/05/14 - Day 427 - I-485 updated to "sent to local office for processing"

07/02/14 - Day 454 - Status changed to testing & interview. Interview date August 4!!

08/04/14 - Day 487 - Mini-Stokes interview. IO intended on approving AOS but the computer did not show I-130 approval. The wait goes on...

08/18/14 - Day 501 - Spoke with Tier 2 IO - said that my I-485 is approved but no card prodn ordered. Asked to call back in 2 weeks if no update.

08/29/14 - Day 512 - Spoke with Tier 2 IO - said that my I-485 was not approved yet, but my file was with an IO for a decision

09/03/14 - Day 517 - Wrote a request to my Congressman asking for assistance

09/09/14 - Day 523 - Status updated to Card/Document Production

09/15/14 - Day 529 - Status update - Card mailed to address on record/permanent resident status registered

09/15/14 - Day 529 - Status update - Card picked up by USPS.

09/16/14 - Day 530 - GREEN CARD RECEIVED IN THE MAIL!!
