I received RFE.

I need help please. Do i need to appoint lawyer now or i should wait for uscis to interview me and then instruct lawyer?

i sent all the evidences i could. I filed waiver with spouse death but we didnt spend much time together and he passed away less than 1 year together.

We didnot have any children. I was housewife so we had separate account which he made for me to spend. We dont have any lease deeds or mortage in both names. The only thing i can send is the 2015 tax documents to show that we filed as married filing jointly though he passed away in middle of 2015. I sent photos, 2014 tax and affidavit by 3 people. They ask for affidavits too now i dont know who to ask for affidavits.

Sorry to hear about your loss. As per appointing an attorney I do not think you should at this point. You can respond by sending what they asked for on the RFE letter. If you are eventually called for an interview see if you can attend with your late husband's family to support you. I am sure they will be sensitive to such circumstances. Good luck.

Hi, you don't need to worry about anything this is part of the process. Send them as much as documents of proof you have even if you have very few don't be hesitant to send those. Interview is not a bad thing infact it works in your favor because you can explain your situation to the interview officer. Good luck and i am pretty sure everything is going to be fine.

Maybe you can get affidavits from priest or landlord, neighbors. Somebody here said they asked for notarized affidavits. Maybe that is what they want.

Do they randomly go through the files or there is a rule?

I was hoping to get my 10 GC before applying for my citizenship.

I guess I gotta move on and apply for my citizenship

I live in Delmar, DE and filed on 05/05/2016. Got approved 05/05/2017. I am sure they are close to making a decision for you.

I sent them on 14th of May 2016 and they got them on 17th of May 2016

Today is exactly one year since they have my docs

They probably have made a decision. Though mine was made on 05/05/2017 I only knew about it on 05/12/2017 with decision dated 05/05/2017. My Case Status only changed on 05/15/2017. So you never know.

I called to USCIS this afternoon and I asked about my case processing time.

NOA: May 19

Bio: June 23

Its taken 364 days until today; and I did not see any new updates from them also. They remind me to make an appointment to stamp on my passport like inforpass because the extension will be expired soon.

We are the same boat but we get different results; even we did fingers crossed or not.

Just would say congratulations to all you guys who was approved.

I am still waiting ...

Have fun!

Hi guys,

Finally i received the letter tl request more evidence. My NOA is 5/02/2016. RFE is 5/15/17. My questions are what kind of materials you guys have submitted to survive the RFE? And how long it takes for USCIS to make decision of RFE after they have received my documents? Thanks!

What new documents do they ask you to provide? Just gather whatever they ask for or what you can get and send them out ASAP. I know this is frustrating. They may have misplaced your documents. I'm among those from Vermont that haven't heard anything. Tomorrow will be 1 year from my NOA. I'm tired of checking the mailbox everyday hoping to see that letter.

Good luck!
