Ok, so in the NVC Process wiki, there is actually something about my problem / error message...

It says:

  • Note: if you're getting an error message ("Please be advised that the case that you have attempted to access is not eligible for further processing by the National Visa Center at this time…" or "This case is in the process of termination. Fee payments and online forms can no longer be accepted…" or "You cannot make online payments for your case at this time. Please contact the NVC if you have questions or need further information."), do NOT panic. This is actually good news! If you just got your case number, then this message means NVC is inputting your case in their system. If you get this message a few days after case number generation, then it's a good possibility that NVC is invoicing your AOS bill. And if this message appears a few days after DS-261 acceptance, then there's a good chance the IV bill is being invoiced.

Now I'm just not sure whether that's just me or if that happened to others from yesterday's batch as well?

Nothing to worry about. Your AOS fee is just being invoiced so that's why you're getting that message. I got the same thing when I first tried to login. you should be able to login by later today if you haven't already.

I've been getting the same message too since yesterday. I read the bit about this on the NVC wiki, I guess we just have to wait for the AOS fee to be invoiced. Hopefully today!

Please let me know when you can log in & your AOS has been invoiced :)

Thanks, Lin! I hope they hurry up because I still get that message and it is driving me nuts. Can I call them before AOS has been invoiced to have the DS-261 reviewed?

LOL...one thing you're forced to learn through this entire process is patience. You have no join but to wait sometimes. Have you received a welcome email from NVC? Reason I ask is because sometimes, they won't review the DS-261 over the phone with you until that email has been sent out. Until then they will say, "the form hasn't been sent to you yet."

Hey! I'm from Mexico too! And this kind of news make us feel hopeful. Congratulations!

We are waiting for our case number, NVC received our case on May 13, so we hope we can get our case number this week or maybe next.

Patience is one of the things I am not really good at ;) I don't think we received an e-mail yet, other than the confirmation of the DS-261 having been submitted.

Isn't it kinda odd to say they haven't sent the form to me yet, so they cannot review it when I obviously could fill it out and complete it? Oh the logic! What do you mean by sometimes? Are there nice operators who will do it and others who won't?

yes, I asked the same question when I called to get my DS-261 reviewed over the phone. she kept saying she couldn't review it because "it hasn't been sent to you (me) yet." I asked how that's possible since I completed it the night before. Turns out she was talking about the Welcome email from NVC, because as soon as I got that email, the AOS fee was available and I called again about the DS-261 and it was reviewed online.

I say sometimes, because others were able to do it before that welcome email was received. NVC is consistent with it's inconsistencies.

 Sometimes...

I guess we'll have to wait for the welcome letter. I hope it doesn't take too long. The login to the payment portal doesn't work yet either, and with Monday being a holiday...

Lin told me they may not review it yet because we didn't receive the welcome letter yet, so I haven't called yet :(
