hey everyone,

my spouse is not working currently but having last year taxes

my question is what is the requirement for AOS i have read the website but still not sure

do we have to file I-864 for both mean my petitioner and our joint sponsor or what Please explain any body the whole things which needed in AOS package

Yes, your spouse and the sponsor both have to file an I-864 form.... A form for each one....

I know this is difficult, but I will keep trying. It will work because, this distance is nothing compared to our love.

10/2013 we met at church in USA, through some common friends. We became friends.

06/07/2014 we went to our first date. :dancing: Why did we take so long to go out? :ranting:

06/22/2014 I said YES.. I want to be your girlfriend... :luv:

07/16/2014 I had to come back to Colombia because my program was over

10/10/2014 My love met me in Colombia to spend my birthday weekend with me. We got engaged (L)

02/17/2015 - 03/09/2015 He came back to Colombia to visit me and met my family. :star:

05/12/2015 We couldn't stand the distance, so he decided to move here with me.

05/28/2015 We got married at the notary. 06/06/2015 We got married at church :D

12/03/2016  Moved back to the USA. 🥰

08/2020 Became a Citizen. 🇱🇷

08/2020 Applied to bring my mom. ❤️

02/28/2022 went to pick my mom to the airport in Florida 🤩

So we called the NVC again and we got an email today saying that we need to send a copy of my passport again.... Well, it has been upsetting but I guess I have to be grateful that at least It was not something else like the AOS forms or the documents we sent to prove domicile...

We are gonna send the copy again tomorrow and the waiting begins again... I guess I'll continue in the NVC June filers.... :)

This forum and this page are awesome!!! Not just for all the guides and info but for all the support we can find here....

I know this is difficult, but I will keep trying. It will work because, this distance is nothing compared to our love.

I don't think there's any way we can know if we'll get a checklist because some people send everything and everything is on point when NVC receives it but somewhere along the way stuff gets misplaced and people are checklisted for stuff they sent so you just have to be think positively and pray for the best...I'm not saying NVC looses everybody's documents so yours will probably be just fine. Try not to stress yourself out and just do things to pass the time. Best of luck!

Is your spouse the sponsor?

AOS requirements are here: https://travel.state.gov/content/visas/en/immigrate/immigrant-process/documents/Step_4_Collect_Financial_Documents.html

You need an I-864 for the petitioner, and an I-864A for each joint sponsor.

Your AOS package should include:

  • Your AOS form(s) (I-864 and I-864A's, as needed)
  • IRS Tax Transcripts
  • Evidence of Income (Paystubs and/or employment letter)
  • Proof of Relationship
  • Proof of Domicile (if petitioner lives outside U.S.)
  • Proof of U.S. Status (joint sponsor)
  • SSA Earnings statement (if using I-864W)
  • Proof of Assets (if sponsoring based upon assets instead of income)

hey gryphone,

i am the beneficiary and my spouse the (petitioner) does not have full income to support me , my sponsor will be another person not my own spouse so is this case what will be the AOS? shouldn't we be filing I-864 for my petitioner and also our sponsor who will be another man?

All you can do is call NVC on day 30 to see if they have worked on your case. if they haven't the phone rep will say no....call again once a day after to check.

If they have and you have CC or checklist, they will tell you. otherwise, you're left just waiting. Hope you get CC quickly.
