Can someone give me an answer. once the NVC receives the AOS/IV packages, how long until one gets a scan date

Ugh I read this wrong last time. 30-45 days is very very very incorrect. You can call to find out the scan date once you think they should have gotten your documents. You may not get anything from nvc saying what your scan date is.

Cateogory: CR1

  • NOA1/Notice of receipt: Sept. 15, 2015
  • NOA2/I130 Approved: February 8, 2016 (NO RFE) :)
  • Process slowed down by us
  • Sent documents to NVC: April 11, 2016
  • Scan date: April 14/ May 7th (NVC said both I dont know why)
  • Case Complete: May 31, 2016 (No checklist) :dancing:

August 17, 2016: Visa Approved!!!! :dancing:

Hi,

An agent can be any1 designated to get notifications on your case eg. the petitioner, the applicant or an attorney (if you have one). The agent must have a valid email address to get emails from NVC.

The IIN is the # you get before paying the respective IV and AoS fees and the Beneficiary Id # is the # that NVC assigns to the applicant and it starts with the first 3 letters of the embassy or consulate where your interview will take place.

Is there any one filing from Abroad?? When is the right time to start looking for a job since I have not been in the States since 2008 I do not have anything active. FYI our I130 just got approved on Friday so no case number yet. We are probably looking at about up to 4 months??

I'm filling from abroad! I submitted all of my documents may 12. I'm worried about the domicile papers and the tax transcript! I'll know by June 12 if they accept what I sent in. I'm nervous.

hey everybody i hope you are getting closer to your destination :clock:

i have a question those who are living abroad

which kind of apps you are using for calling NVC because if you use regular phone from here it cost a lot of money i don't know if there is any cheap apps or free app so that we can be in contact with the NVC ?

thank you all

If you have a Gmail account go there install Google hangouts. It's free to call.

I have lived in Nigeria through the entire NVC Process and called NVC 2 to 3 times a day.

And Nigeria network sucks. But it worked fine.

I love free calls. I call my family all US business. You dial like you are in US.

Give it a try. Get a Gmail account. ;)

Our case just got approved so it has not made it to the NVC yet. I will be traveling to the States in June for work and will try to get as much done as possible to have anything for domicile. But I am worried since for everything I need a lease and a US address and I do not have that. I have filled for taxes to show them that I am keeping ties to US. Should I include my tax form that I filed (what is a transcript) how do I get that.

If you filled your taxes, all that you have to do is to Google Get tax transcript, then I think you either can call or mail in a request for a transcript.

The problem for me is that all of my foreign earned income showed up as 0$ because my income is less than the 90 something k, so none of my income is taxed. I included my transcript showing 0$, my tax returns that showed my income and the form I filled out for the foreign earned income tax exclusion, a letter from my employer on letterhead with my employment dates and salary, and 6 months of pay slips. But I don't know if that'll be acceptable.

I also showed proof of my intent to go home. I have a bank account and retirement money with my usa address ( my mom's house), a letter from my boss saying that I'm leaving when my husband gets the visa, emails from apartment searches in the us, daycare emails, and a letter from my sister with her water bills showing she owns the house and that my family is welcome to stay with her.

That's everything i sent to the nvc for finances and domicile.

I hope that helps a little :/

We will be using a joint sponsor for my husband since they do not count my abroad salary. I have emails from apartment search. I will have emails for registering our daughter in school. I will let my employee write me a letter that I have notified them and that as soon as he gets the visa we will be moving. Your are before me I hope you do not get a checklist, since I do have the same thing you have.

Closer to moving is there a way to rent an apartment from abroad? Would it be better to move ahead when we get the case complete to the States. So the only thing my husband waits for is the interview?

If I get an apartment before we move what do I do about a phone number on the CV. How would they contact me?

The problem is that we have two little girls (USC as well) and moving with them would not work since I would be on my own. Leaving them with my husband for little over two months would be toooo hard.

Hi,

For the Phone number, you can purchase the US number from Skype. If I m not wrong 3 months for $18.

As long as you have internet, they can ring you anytime, any where.

Yes. You can rent an apartment from abroad. You call the lease offices and ask them. I called many apartment lease office, two of them is willing to rent online but I need to show bank statement to approve I have enough money. They need rent x months x 3times . If my rent is 1000/ months for 6 months. So 1000x 6x 3= 18000 . I want to move in July but they don't have vacancy so I haven't start application yet.
