Congratulations. Welcome to the group. Hope you read the NVC Process wiki and have your packages ready to send so as you pay that AOS fee.

You mean to say both AOS and IV together. What about the IV Bar coded cover sheet? Don't we have to wait till we pay IV fee.

You're coming in at a good time too! I haven't been at NVC for more then 3 weeks and I have completed everything that's been needed from our part. I am currently along with many others in the wait for Case Complete. I recommend you get started on working on everything you can that way when it comes to doing everything you are ready and should not have problems. This site is Extremely helpful make good use of it. There are a lot of friendly people here always willing to help! :)

Thanks so much! That's great news :) I am already working on seeinf what we need to do now. I have started creating a speadsheet and will try to add tentative dates in pencil, just to have a reminder. And it's great that people here are so helpful. I already know I will have some questions LOL

Welcome!!!! Angela is right! This site is so helpful and it will help you know what to do best :)

Congrats on going to the NVC!

Thanks a lot! I was so shocked and happy. And I still cannot believe it. But it's true according to the case status...

Congratulations. Welcome to the group. Hope you read the NVC Process wiki and have your packages ready to send so as you pay that AOS fee.

Thanks, dwheels! I hope you have happy news soon :D As for the NVC process wiki, I already read Saylin's page a couple times, and as I mentioned, I have started creating a spreadsheet for us, but... I am sure I have questions. Just need to get everything a bit prettier first ;)

WE HAVE 3 NA'S!!!!! Oh my goodness I'm SO excited!!!!! WOW! I can't call to confirm until Monday but still. WOW!!!! Scan date is April 8th.

Congrats! That's wonderful news :D

From how I understand it, you can just take the AOS cover sheet and either use white out or a computer program to erase the "AOS" on there. Then you can use the second copy of the AOS cover sheet for the IV paperwork as well.

So, I am still not 100% certain on some things regarding NVC stage...

I thought the IV pack was all about the beneficiary, but: do we have to add the petitioner's divorce papers again? It asks for divorce papers, military records, proof of permanent residence etc. The petitioner is divorced, lives in the US, no miliary history... Neither is the case for the beneficiary.

Nope not if you want to get through NVC faster. Soon as you pay AOS fee you are free to send in both packages. Read the wiki its all in there.

You will lose almost 3 to 4 weeks waiting to pay IV fee and send why wait.

No you are right the IV is all the Beneficiaries info. USCIS was all about the Petitioner that's where you submitted the divorce papers. Just have a copy for interview.

You only submit what applies but all Beneficiaries are required to submit the below: Photocopies only originals you take to interview.

1. Bio-page of passport

2. Birth Certificate

3. Marriage certificate

4. Police certificate.

5. Translation if it applies

Thanks a lot! Then we only need 1-4, the paperwork is all in English or German (official language where I will have my interview). And there really shouldn't be anything on my police certificate, so I'm good. Thanks for reassuring me, dwheels!

hello all. quick question. Do I need to send translations for police certificates into NVC?

oops just read the above post... guess I do need them...

From what I understand, you need a translation of everything that is neither in English nor in the official language of the country where you will have your interview. The police certificate is the one exception to the rule: You need a translation to English if there is anything on it.

@happiestoflives @dwheels76. Thank you for Clarifying..

I was just starting with the cover letter for IV package and I have few questions:

1) Can the cover letter be written by Petitioner?

2) When writing cover letter do we mention Attn: DR or Attn: CMR?

On NVC site it says Attn: DR:

https://travel.state.gov/content/visas/en/immigrate/immigrant-process/documents/Submit_documents.html#method3

On Visa journey site it says Attn: CMR:

https://docs.google.com/document/d/1xS_Hj5SS51xgMA7rWpjGDUB1Ycr4q1nuIZaJh6Qh8c8/mobilebasic?pli=1

I don't know if this matters?

You can make your own cover letter as well. I made my own cover letter but you NEED a bar-coded cover letters that's a must. If you don't have the IV bar coded one you can print out another AOS one. It's the same thing only that it has AOS you can easily use white out for that. Edited by angela_garcia23
