dissolution in the phils

I know the philippines doesn't recognize divorce. I was married in the philippines and since my wife came here to the usa she has been a completely different person. I'm not going to go into details about the situation. I'm just wondering if anyone has gone through a dissolution with a filipina and can the process be started here with an attorney or is it something we have to do in the philippines. I here it takes a few years to complete the process. It's a shame it's coming to this but I'm not being left with much options.

Fill out your timeline. Many are here to help but need some basic info.

The cultural shock is enormous and many USC guys don't get it and takes time to understand. She left her family and everything she knew back in the PI, friends, family, food, culture, school, native language, climate, etc. its time to man-up. I see too many posts on here with people thinking that marriage is like a disposable diaper, you can change as soon as things do not meet your expectation. Welcome to life.

Work it out together but if impossible then do what you need to do.

First off there is divorce in the Philippines, but it may not be for you. The divorce that is recognized by the Filipino government is a Muslim divorce.

Having said that, you can divorce her here in the US using your local court jurisdiction. She then can use the divorce to clear her name in the Philippines and remarry at a later date. If she decides to divorce you then she will not be able to remarry in the philippines but can in the US or where applicable in other countries.

As best you can, I'd recommend that you file the divorce against her and let bygones be bygones. Let her have a clean slate as well as you. I wish the best in your decisions.

well DN Medellin Col, my timeline has nothing to do with asking if anyone has any experience with dissolution in the phils. My wife no longer speaks to me, told me 5 times she wants to go home to the filthy, crowded, and hot philippines. It's time to man up? What the hell is that suppose to mean. I know i can divorce here in the usa. Without a dissolution in the phils, its my understanding I would never be able to petition another filipina if i chose to do so.

If you're a USC you can petition another Filipina even with your divorce from your current wife. No need for you to complete any dissolution. Your divorce papers are all you need.

I think if it is time to end the relationship ask her what she wants you to do and do it.

You can't marry another Filipina for sure, or anyone else, while still married to your wife.

So ask her what she wants, discuss the options, then do what she wants.
