I have honestly never watched it....I guess when I moved from the small town I grew up in (no cable or anything but CBC)....I never or tried not to watch CBC...lol. I know I probably missed out on lots. I do love Canadian TV though and so do my children. When we are at my fiances place they miss the "Treehouse" channel...they just don't get the same shows as we do.

I also remember Sesame Street as being English/French....now I only hear Spanish. But no matter a second language is always great.

I think some of my fav Cdn shows of recent are Robson Arms, Corner Gas and Jeff Etc (I think that is what it is called)...

Fortunately for me that the man I am marrying only lives 10 kms from the border and we do pick up a snowy CBC and CTV....lol. I never ever thought I would admit to missing CBC so much. (sorry I still don't like hockey...lol)

Hi Vnoe and Everyone Else,

Good luck on your immigration journey. Yes, in Canada, "Sesame Street" was known as "Canadian Sesame Street" or "Sesame Park". The show clips were in English and French. Also, there were some uniquely Canadian characters such as, Louie (The beaver), Bazil (The polar bear), and Jodie (The pilot). Also the other characters on "Mr.Dressup" were Mr. Dressup, Truffles, Chester the Crow, Annie, Granny, and various kids. And the characters from "Under the Umbrella Tree" (yes, another Canadian kids show) were Holly, Izzy (the iguana), Gloria, and the bluejay (sorry, I forgot the name of him). And on the "Polka Dot Door" show the charcters were various hosts, Marigold, Bear, Humpty, and Dumpty, and Polkaroo. And on "Today's Special", the characters were Jodie, Jeff, Muffy the Mouse, Sam, and Waldo the Magician...

Lol...sorry, useless Canadian children's shows trivia here, I just have too much stuff in my head from my childhood years of watching too much tv....

I like the Trailer Park Boys. I bought Mel the Christmas one, he thought it was funny.

I'll buy him the Trailer Park Boys movie, I think it out on DVD now.

I watched Road to Avonlea. I was always an Anne of Green Gables fan- I had the books and always watch it when it comes on. They always seem to air it when PBS does the fund raisers.

LOL! I thought my husband and I were the only TPB fans here! I have seasons 1-4 and want season 5.

Anne of Green Gables is one of my favourites! Joel says he will take me to PEI one of these days. :D

Oo my mom and brother are obsessed with TPB. I think it's too weird to imagine trailer park anything with what sounds like a Minnesota accent :)

eta: looks around, finds self in Canadian forum, on week-old thread. asks self, what am I doing here?

PS As for Canadian TV, I am obsessed with Degrassi: Next Generation. My parents are best college friends with the guy who plays Craig's parents, so I had to check it out, and now I am hooked.

LOL, it's ok Alex! It's allowed!

TPB is weird and as far as them having Minnesota accents, I've never heard one but they do sound Canadian to me. :)
