I wouldn't say guaranteed but the majority in the MENA'S get mandatory AP.

They will tell you all is fine just extra admin. Processing which can take days to weeks or more.

Hi eveybody , im just wondering about smthng i heard everywhere thats the AP for males is garanteed in morocco and arabic country !! Is that true ?

Most but not all. This policy started after 9/11 and 13 years ago when I was pregnant with my first child, my Moroccan husband was in South Korea waiting for his interview. All of his Moroccan friends that had their interviews were getting AP and had to wait an additional 4 months.

Being extremely pregnant and crabby at the time I called the embassy on a regular basis and finally they got so annoyed with me they put me through to an immigration officer (keep in mind this was 13 years ago and I don't think I would have been able to do this in 2016). I spoke with the immigration officer and she said that there's certain criteria on the applicant that would put them in AP and unfortunately most male applicants in the MENA group hit these criteria. Fortunately for me at the time, my husband did not meet that criteria and he was able to get his visa right away.

I wish I could tell you exactly what that criteria is but no one really knows for certain. Generally, it's if you have a common name and somehow ended up on one of their "lists", if you have a job in a "sensitive" industry, and where you have traveled to. I'm experiencing the same "will we get AP" question with my current husband (he's from Iran).

Best of luck to you!

dwheels76 used to have it in her signature for the very first post of the CC threads. I don't think she has it on there anymore, but I had saved it knowing i'd want to stalk the package when it's in transit. :)

Hi

You are so sweet. Thanks a lot for thinking about us. We are not victimized by the flood. But most people were affected. Non-stop raining all over the country.

Not good. :cry2:

I am only victimized by AP. :) They asks the tax transcripts for year 2014 & 2015. Tommy has given some other tax application copies or something instead of tax transcripts. Our lawyer or NVC never corrected us. At-least they never asked me to bring that for the interview.. I knew nothing about those US documents. Now Tommy has to go back US and email those documents to the Colombo embassy. They kept my passport and other originals. At the moment I am not feeling good. Thanks for concern dear friend!!

Anyway.. we will go on a 3 day outing tomorrow. :)

God bless you!

Good news is that they kept your passport while awaiting the pending 2014 and 2015 tax transcripts. I think you have nothing to worry about as long as your hubby brings what the embassy requires. :)

Time quickly approaching my friend. As my husband would say, drink some warm tea (he thinks warm tea cures everything). All will be well!

Question (again)..how can one tell if they have touched the case? I'm sure I know the answer to this but the circuits have fired up as of yet.

I have attached a photo....you will see where it says Status Updated Date. That date changes each time someone looks at your case file.

When you first send your AOS and IV Packages, it goes to Attn CMR ( _____ Mail Room -- not sure what the C stands for). When you send additional information for checklist it goes to Attn DR (Document Review -- separate department than the initial)

Hey Liny,

The 'C' in CMR stands for "consolidated". :)

So, I got in on Sunday and port of entry was JFK. It was a total breeze. Have a job interview on Monday and my husband and I went to a social security office today and we were told they processed my card on the 18th so I should receive it no later than June 1st.

Haven't been on here much lately since I've been getting settled but good luck to all upcoming interviews, congrats on all CCs and visa approvals. Hope everyone is fine and everything goes smoothly.

Timeline

So, I got in on Sunday and port of entry was JFK. It was a total breeze. Have a job interview on Monday and my husband and I went to a social security office today and we were told they processed my card on the 18th so I should receive it no later than June 1st.

Haven't been on here much lately since I've been getting settled but good luck to all upcoming interviews, congrats on all CCs and visa approvals. Hope everyone is fine and everything goes smoothly.

Awww....Congratulations and glad to hear travel and POE was easy for you. Most importantly, WELCOME TO THE U.S.A.!

May your union continue to be blessed and your new life here go beyond your imagination! Enjoy the moments...
