Hi I have a few question. If I were to want to see the amount of time it takes to get an interview or what month they're on for assigning interviews next where would I find that? I know the spreadsheet but I don't really understand how to decipher it. Any other Mexico filers here who can help out figure out what month Mexico is on? Have April filers gotten an interview date? Or was it just March filers? So many questions I know I'm trying to figure everything out for my sanity haha anyone who has any input I'd really appreciate it.

For specifics I'm not sure, but maybe a call to the NVC might provide some information?

As far as the spreadsheet goes the most recent entry for Mexico with an interview date assigned received their case complete on March 31 and on May 3 were assigned an interview date of June 17.

6/23 - Approved!

Now to hope Canada Post doesn't strike before my passport arrives from the consulate

So her passport is not bearing your last name? Will, it might not set you guys back. But, it would have been better to change everything at the early stage. My wife and I marriage certificate doesn't bear my last name either. I am sure someone in here have had similar issues and have an answer for you guys. Good luck.

No Jamis2. Her passport does not have my last name. I dug some older discussions up and there seemed to be a consensus that the Visa can only be issued with the name in the passport; likewise the GC and SSN. If this is true, then I guess we are out of luck now.

Worst case scenario, we'll just wait till ROC time or even When she's ready to apply for citizenship God willing. It seems SSN name is easier to change but GC is 'long' and costly.

Any updates or changes need to be made at interview.

Delay it shouldn't delay. Long as she takes her name change documents ypu will be fine.

And you definitely want new name on green card.

So yes change at interview.

We had address change and I put I was born in Houston, Texas, Nigeria. LOL

When it was Georgetown, South Carolina, USA and mailing address so green card goes to the right place.

Lol that's interesting. I've been digging some old conversations on here. Apparently, the Visa, GC and SSN will only be issued with the name in the passport. I don't know how true this is though but sounds logical. I'm about to move the conversation to the CR1/IR1 forum and see if I can find anyone with experience doing that.

Filter Debbie's spreadsheet to show Mexico only, if you look at the CC Date column, you can see that March 31st CC got an interview scheduled on May 3rd. Seems to be taking about 2-3 months for Mexico between CC and interview. All the interviews that are/was being scheduled right now for any country is/was for June. When they start scheduling again in a few weeks it will be for interviews for the month of July.

Thank you LinJoe! I really appreciate the help. I just have to hope for the best I was really hoping for a July interview. But since April filers have not yet been assigned an interview date then I'm sure July with be for them. I'll most likely have to wait for an August interview if I'm lucky. The wait is just insane :( I want this nightmare to be over already.

Hold your head up. Time will go quickly. Look back on how much time has gone by already. One day you'll look back and wonder how you made it but it will be completely worth it when you and your hubby are together again.

A visa will only be issued in the name in the applicant's passport. So you would need to update the passport before and then take the name change documents as well as the new passport to the interview ( I believe, along with the old passport).

When I went to get my medical done I also got a disc plus they printed the pics out on normal paper. They put the prints and CD into an envelope and sealed it before giving it to me.

The rest of the results was directly sent to the consulate.

Good luck for your interview :-)

Thank you for your response. Though I know every embassy handles it differently and thank you for the well wishes

Wishing you the best on the big day!!!

Thank you so much :-)

The NVC has already told me on the phone that you cannot interview on a tourist visa. You must have the right to reside in the country where you attend the interview. Once my employer cancels all our visas the option of interviewing in Abu Dhabi is closed. Also, we cannot afford the ridiculous price of accommodation in the UAE while waiting for an interview, it's only possbile for me to stay here while my employer is paying.

thats right housing and other stuff is very expensive here you cant survive with it i totally understand... some nationals are allow to have interveiw in uae such as IRANIANS anyhow you have 2 choice now 1 ask your company not to cancel your visa untill your family done with interveiw which will be in july i m sure on it... option 2 is teansfer your case to local us embassy where your family belongs its gonna take addiotional couple of months but you will be relax
