you can have a tourist visa for your family its not very expensive in order to have little safe side of extra time just in case...

I'm guessing it will be almost impossible for someone with no job to convince a CO to issue tourist visas to their family, but let's say we did get a tourist visa, could the interview be moved to the USA? Once we exit the UAE we would technically would not be eligible to interview there as we would no longer be residents.

Is is necessary to fill out another Affadavit of Support for 2015? When I submitted everything to NVC on mArch 1st everything was from 2014. So I already planned on bringing in 2015. Just wasn't sure if the form needed to be filled out again.

Our interview was in June and we were NOT asked for an updated I-864. But it appears some embassies DO ask for it.

Just have it with you - in case.

The NVC has already told me on the phone that you cannot interview on a tourist visa. You must have the right to reside in the country where you attend the interview. Once my employer cancels all our visas the option of interviewing in Abu Dhabi is closed. Also, we cannot afford the ridiculous price of accommodation in the UAE while waiting for an interview, it's only possbile for me to stay here while my employer is paying.

Ladies and gentlemen,

I need some Knowledge Transfer here.

My wife finally completed the name change process to have my last name. All along, every form has been filled with her maiden name.

The plan is to present the name change documents at the interview for the changes to be made because we would want her SSN and GC to have the new name.

I am wondering though if this will be a wise thing to do. Does it have the potential of setting things back or delaying approval? What will be your suggestion?

Thanks

So her passport is not bearing your last name? Will, it might not set you guys back. But, it would have been better to change everything at the early stage. My wife and I marriage certificate doesn't bear my last name either. I am sure someone in here have had similar issues and have an answer for you guys. Good luck.
