Case Complete to Interview June 2016

Ladies and gentlemen,

I need some Knowledge Transfer here.

My wife finally completed the name change process to have my last name. All along, every form has been filled with her maiden name.

The plan is to present the name change documents at the interview for the changes to be made because we would want her SSN and GC to have the new name.

I am wondering though if this will be a wise thing to do. Does it have the potential of setting things back or delaying approval? What will be your suggestion?

Here's an update to my situation.

I'm the petitoner and live with my family in the UAE. CC on April 14-15th for my wife and children. I'm being laid off from my current job, I really need to be out of the country by mid-July. Even as a US citizen, once your job is finished here your visa is cancelled and you must exit. For my family it is worse, as they cannot reenter without getting a tourist visa first.

Seems the AUH embassy is slow. If I get the interview in the same timeframe as someone posted earlier I will be okay, but I'm concerned it could go longer. I just called the NVC and there is no update.

I have a job lined up in the USA that starts early August. But if I don't get the interview before mid-July it's going to be real problem as we will have to exit and go somewhere else, and I will have to find my family somewhere to stay in a third country while I go start work. We have all been living together for many years, and my children need to be in school. It will be very disruptive if we don't get this finished soon. Is this a strong enough case to ask to be expedited? What's the process to expedite?

Have you tried an expedite? I sure would send that to NVC Monday. That's abut all you can do.

Question in regards to the medical results. Did anyone who did their medical and pick up collect a x-ray disc? The disc is for POE correct? I've had a rough day today so it kind of slipped me as to what exactly the lady said to me when I picked up the results. Also is it just for Jamaica or do other countries give x-ray results on a disc also?

that's your copy but do have with you at POE just in case.

TAX FILLING PSA:

Okay am seeing this topic posted like every other post so lets clear things up about tax filing.

Tax filing deadline was April 18th. If you did not send NVC 2015 financials please have them ready for your interview.

Even if you filed an extension. You should be bringing to interview:

1. Updated I-864 or I-864EZ updated to show 2015, 2014, 2013 for you and your joint sponsor (if you have one). Original no copy
2. 2015 Tax forms with W2 or
3. Tax transcripts
4. If you filed extension have extension with tax forms and W2

Even if the Interview letter says bring 2014 W2 or other prior year you are still expected to provide 2015 updated information.

PS to the PSA

They might ask for everything or they might ask for nothing. Just have the stuff ready in case. Some countries are really funky about new tax forms. Others don't care. The closer you are to the 125% of the poverty line, the more important it is to bring your updated tax info.

Just do it.

No because NVC has updated info they will send to embassy. I would have a copy at interview just in case though.

Is is necessary to fill out another Affadavit of Support for 2015? When I submitted everything to NVC on mArch 1st everything was from 2014. So I already planned on bringing in 2015. Just wasn't sure if the form needed to be filled out again.

Remember they are preparing for interview also. Status updates can be information they have obtained. Background checks, checking social media, field investigation. Anything the CO who has the case is doing.

Any updates or changes need to be made at interview.

Delay it shouldn't delay. Long as she takes her name change documents ypu will be fine.

And you definitely want new name on green card.

So yes change at interview.

We had address change and I put I was born in Houston, Texas, Nigeria. LOL

When it was Georgetown, South Carolina, USA and mailing address so green card goes to the right place.
