Hi VJ members,

A quick one here i hope there is someone who has been through this...My friend is gay and HIv positive he has his interview on June 2rd and he is yet to go for his medical in Nairobi come next week. The question is he is freaking out they might deny him the visa because of his status.he has done a pre - medical to just be sure nothing else is wrong with him and apart from his hiv status he is ok.He knows its no longer basis for denial but he really want to know from anyone who knows /has heard of anyone who has been through this to enlighten him on the questions he will be asked on his interview and also what he need to carry for the interview just to ease his mind.Any help will be highly appreciated.

I have no clue so i cant help.

We have interviews in Montreal the same day! :) Hoping hubby doesn't end up with automatic AP because he's from Iran, but other than that I've read that the CO that does the interviews is pretty chill.

Like said before, bring the albums, they won't keep the originals of your photos, but to be on the safe side put some together and copy them in case for some reason they want to keep something (for the I-130 I put a collage together of a few photos on a sheet of paper and copied it).

Congratulations. But bring your albums if you want they do not keep your originals. It's fine.

Also I don't have you on the spreadsheet and you have no timeline. When was your CC and when did you get your Interview date? Thank you.

My timeline would be a mess up til the NVC stage, I'm afraid. As I said earlier we had this great thing going on where we didn't get any mail from USCIS or our welcome letter from the NVC so I have no idea when anythign happened on a day-to-day level.

I'm not sure where I'd check case complete? I have an email on May 5 stating that they've "completed processing" and I have to "bring my husband's 2015 W2's to the interview", and an email with the "in queue for an interview" letter dated May 9. I was given an interview date on May 10.

My priority date is June 15 of last year, no idea if that sped the interview issuing up but I'm certainly not complaining! :)

6/23 - Approved!

Now to hope Canada Post doesn't strike before my passport arrives from the consulate

Good luck with your interview! Even if you do end up in AP I'm sure they'll come to their senses quickly! :goofy:

I got a call from the NVC earlier actually and during the conversation the worker admitted that my interview would be short so between that and a relaxed CO this might not be as terribly stressful as I'm imagining. Also that collage idea is great, I may have to steal that for myself :)

Thank you! Good luck to you too. You'll probably end up with the 3 question interview. Feel free to steal the idea.

Now time to scrape hubby off the ceiling as he watches the Persepolis game.
