I've read that you should get an SSN within one month of entering the US especially if you answered yes to that question on the Visa application. However, i have read on this forum of people not getting it and having to go to the SS Administration office and applying for one because they (SS Administration) didn't see one was requested. So, i would say after you enter the US, wait a few days to one week and then go to your nearest SS Administration office and confirm with them that there is one being processed for you. I don't know how often this situation happens but If they say no, then you can apply while you're there.

Thank G-d we have all this information compiled here, since my P4 email attached file didn't include the meaning of the document status code for the letter J, for instance. Has any of you experience this as well?

Yes, my letter also did not include what J meant but the wiki was a great help! I think it is a standard letter that is only edited to show what is the particular set of requirements for the visa applicant.

I've read that you should get an SSN within one month of entering the US especially if you answered yes to that question on the Visa application. However, i have read on this forum of people not getting it and having to go to the SS Administration office and applying for one because they (SS Administration) didn't see one was requested. So, i would say after you enter the US, wait a few days to one week and then go to your nearest SS Administration office and confirm with them that there is one being processed for you. I don't know how often this situation happens but If they say no, then you can apply while you're there.

June 1st 2015: Filed I-130 petition
June 3rd 2015: Delivered to Nebraska Lockbox
June 5th 2015: Petition is accepted by USCIS
June 7th 2015: NOA1 received via email/text
June 9th 2015: NOA1 received via mail
November 6th 2015: NOA2 in the website !!!
NVC
December 11th 2015 : Call the NVC and they give me the case number and the invoice ID number
December 21st 2015 : AOS Fee Paid Online
December 20th 2015 : Welcome Letter sent via USPS. No email
December 23rd 2015 : AOS Fee marked as Paid Online
January 5th 2016 : DS261 reviewed by phone ; IV fee must be unlock within 7 days
January 6th 2016 : IV Fee paid but show as "in process"
January 8th 2016 : AOS and IV package sent
January 8th 2016 : IV fee marked as PAID
January 8th 2016 : DS260 COMPLETED
January 19th 2016 : AOS and IV packets reveived !
February 29th 2016 : RFE ...
March 1st 2016 : Documents sent back to NVC with DHL, took 2 days to arrive
March 4th 2016 : Second scan date !
March 22th 2016 : Ask for an Expedite
March 27th 2016 : Expedite Accepted and the case was send directly to the embassy before the CC
April 12th 2016: Mail from the embassy with the interview date
April 15th 2016 : Medical exam : DONE
April 27th 2016 : INTERVIEWWWWWWWWWWWW
