It's like this I tell people. Your casefile goes before you ad in the hands of the embassy a month or so before you ever even show up. What do you want in that CO's hands to make a decision.

Sending extra evidence at NVC isn't compulsory. It's called side-loading. many use it like I did because after I filed my petition I came to Nigeria to stay until after Interview. I wanted the embassy to know I was her. Had already been here 2 months when AOS and IV was sent in.

Also I have helped and advised folk who sent absolutely nothing with their I-130 but a marriage certificate and yes got approved. So went sent more evidence.

Yes take evidence to interview but there is no guarantee any of it will be asked for to see. I have seen too many people denied at interviewed who provided bare minimum in their petition package hoping to show what they have at interview and were denied or in AP because the CO didn't see nothing there.

It's all about your individual case and your embassy. Canada, UK, Australia is not Nigeria, The Middle East or Jamaica.

And you right Thomianguy

They do they homework. Why s t one person's Facebook is scrutinize down to "Seems you created a Facebook page just t appease immigration.". This was said to someone I know because they don't talk to no one but each other. N one else post, comments likes.

I have known of CO's who went and checked what name you use to create that Yahoo, WhatsApp, Hotmail account. I known friends who had field agents sent out. Even Ice agents coming to the petitioners home in US before interview.

II know my 393 pages with my I-130 matter but I truly believe the extra evidence showing I am here and living with hubby and hubby saying at interview I am still here. Sealed the deal. No evidence nothing of the evidence and albums he brought was even asked for . She said she had everything she needed we submitted everything they needed and wanted I know my embassy and Lagos loves pictures of family and Phone logs.

Thank you Dwheels76 :-) I don't mind if they investigate us and do their research. The worse they will find is arguments between us when the distance gets frustrating and sometimes that time of month lol. I'm stubborn and so is she. She's a Scorpio and you mix that with a Gemini...ohhhh boy lol. Point is once they do their research and see the evidence I don't think they will have any doubts about how genuine our love is.

Folks there is absolutely no need to panic if you didn't submit evidence in the earlier stages. Take your evidence to your respective interviews. I can speak with confidence as it relates to Jamaica, they will ask you for evidence If they are not satisfied with what is already there.Jamaican folks can read the Jamaica observer the embassy writes an article every week, the burden is on you to prove your case.

True words...

Good evening and Happy Mothers Day to all the mother's and step-mothers and here's to another Happy non-egg fertilization day for me due to separation from my hubby....(just jokes the last part)...

Looking back over the 11 month, roughly 14 day process, we had NO issues at all and we did the paperwork without any lawyer. Everything was pretty self-explanatory. The only time I did something outside of just the formal paperwork was at the AOS stage, but that is because 2 major things were happening AFTER the AOS was submitted and BEFORE the Case Complete or interview date was given and that was that one of my dependents - my son - was going to be 21 well before the interview and he was no longer going to be a dependent and my incoming wife would take his place in sponsorship considerations. I explained this PROACTIVELY in writing to the NVC when sending in the AOS (I-864 EZ, as I needed no co-sponsor) so that if the NVC was not satisfied, I would know what needed to be done up front and early.

We sent NO additional proofs other than what they asked for, but I will admit, I did one thing from the start that I am saying that anyone has to do and that was, I attached a copy of one of our wedding photos to the I-130. We did it for a VERY specific, personal reason so again, I am NOT telling anyone this is something they had/have to do, but the photo showed a few key things I wanted to put "out there." For one thing, it showed a very relaxed, smiling, "into each other," comfortable couple as opposed to an awkward looking, "deer in headlights," uncomfortable or nervous looking couple. I wanted the relaxed look in the photo to the be the very same relaxed look they saw at the interview. AGAIN, not telling anyone to do this or that they HAVE to do this or this is EXPECTED.

Now, despite the idea that I had a gut feeling we were going to get through, we carried every bit of proof we could think of, "just in case" and the only "proof" they asked to see were a few wedding photos that would have complimented the one I sent in and that was it. Was interesting to see that the photo I sent in at the start, came full circle back to us at the interview.

For starters, the proofs we carried were:

1. One foot long album (weighs about 3 pounds) with 160 (plus) wedding photos of well over 600 photos in total and those were just OUR photos. My son was my best man and he is all over the album.
2. Skype call logs (not conversations as that was too tedious)
3. Tango call logs (188 pages of calls)
4. SOME Facebook statuses and comments, but also printing a page that showed over 68,000 messages between us over a 2.5 year period
5. A portion of a Whatsapp log, but the key was the bottom of the page that showed I walked with about 10 of 300 plus pages with 644,000 words between us on Whatsapp
6. Life Insurance through my job with my wife as prime beneficiary
7. Boarding passes from 5 flights to Guyana over 2 years.
8. Western Union receipts
9. Printed receipts of payments made for hall reservation for our reception, which ironically, was about 200 feet, directly ACROSS the street from the embassy a year earlier.
10. Two "character witness" letters from the person who introduced us and another prominent, well decorated author and world economist who attended the wedding and hosted us for a pre-wedding dinner and also hosted me as a guest the night before the wedding, as that is where I stayed.

In the end, NONE of those proofs mattered or were asked for because paperwork-wise, we were straight and if they did any behind the scenes work, they would have found a normal married couple with neither of us keeping any interesting secrets or "other lives" going on. Yet, we carried those items, just in case they threw us a curve.

Hi,

I have a question, I don't mean to hijack the thread but since all here are already approved from NVC I'm just wondering how long did you wait after submitting documents for an approval from NVC? Is there a way to search the spreadsheet or vj timeline to see the avg wait time for a case complete? More specifically, for Canadian applicants.

Thank you all, and best of luck :)

Canada is EP and it's taking them 7 to 14 days to case complete.

If sending in mail it's 30 to 40 days is the average.

Thank you! Maybe I'm being too impatient. We submitted on April 23rd via email, and they processed it April 25th. Today makes it exactly 14 days, so I'm probably just being too eager. I appreciate the reply :)

Hubbzie and I sent 35-40 pics of our wedding, honeymoon and casual hangouts when we submitted our I-130. Were those pics used only at the USCIS stage or were they transferred to NVC and my local embassy as well?

Your case file is sent from USCIS to NVC to embassy. My husband was remarking he could see out petition about 3 1/2 thin siting there.
