Its up to all of us to keep this information current, relevant and helpful to others.

Special Note: Different consulates or embassies have strict guidelines as to what type of bags/purses/cellphones etc can be carried in. And whether they provide any lockers (or not) for temp storage. As many travel from far away (by air/train/cars, one needs to specially know what they will not be able to take inside the consulate and where to store their personal belongings.

I just called and got Case Complete how long does it take to get the email as confirmation?

Well it has been taking 5 to 7 days to get case complete email from the date they Case Complete.

How long after Case Complete will I get an interview?

Okay this is the BIG mystery of NVC. How it usually goes is end of the month and first week of month they start scheduling for interviews for the that upcoming month. Since January they have been pretty consistent starting about the last 2 days of the month and finishing that following first week of next month

Do I have to call for my interview date?

NVC has improved greatly since March. The interview letter now comes day of schedule. So call if you want its up to you.

I know someone who got interview in the middle of the month. How is that possible?

Usually when you see someone pop up with an interview outside the bunch its usually the result of a cancellation or the embassy opening up a slot. Just because scheduling stops doesn't mean they filled up all slots. They may have more slots than appointments which is good. So someone gets case complete and immediately they get an interview. It happens.

Remember every embassy has its own slots and schedule. Some like El Salvador are very busy with a long waiting list. Some like Yemen, well it may be a few months to get in. Iceland you get interview immediately scheduled after case Complete.

I need to change our interview date what do I do?

Once you receive your interview date track your casefile. Call NVC ask when your casefile left than you can follow the DHL instructions to embassy. The contact your embassy (email is best) and ask to be rescheduled later, earlier just ask.

What do I need to bring to interview?

When you receive your P4 Letter (Interview letter) it will have your personalized checklist of things to bring or not. It has been suggested because things have been lost between NVC and embassy to bring everything (Originals) to the interview so if they don't have at embassy you aren't delayed.It's up to you. It doesn't happen much but it does happen.

Thanks to Fabian&Ross for spelling this all out. Once you get the interview letter reference this.

You must bring the following items to the visa interview:

1. Any original documents the NVC requested that you did not submit (refer to the document list below)
2. If the physician gives you your medical exam results, bring them to your interview in the envelope sealed by the medical office.
3. Two passport photographs measuring 2 inches by 2 inches (5 cm by 5 cm) with a white background
4. A valid unexpired passport
5. Photocopies of all civil documents
6. A new police certificate from your current country of residence, if you obtained the police certificate more than one year ago.
7. Any additional documents listed in the U.S. Embassy or Consulate specific interview guidelines

The following table lists the documents requested by the NVC and whether or not you submitted them to the

NVC. Please note that even though you may have provided the NVC with a copy of a document, you are

still required to bring the original document to the visa interview.

How to pay the Green Card Production fee of $165 on the Elis system.

NO NEED FOR ACCESS CODE, that is for other procedures like getting a copy of a green card, etc.

1. Create the ELIS account here: https://myaccount.uscis.dhs.gov/

2. Go here to pay fee: https://www.uscis.go...g-online-filing

3. Click to pay the USCIS immigrant fee icon.

4.Click "continue" at the bottom.

5.Enter the Alien Number and the NVC or DOS case. Use the same email you used on the ELIS account.

This is critical to enable your created ELIS account to receive your payment information.

6. You will get an email confirming your payment.

7. When you log again on the ELIS account, you will see your case number. (It is added automatically).

8. Login into your ELIS account to track or check the status of your Green Card.

Note: Green Card process starts when immigrant enters USA and is processed at POE.

Congrats to all on getting your interview dates. Not sure which date to go by called NVC and was told my case was approved on Feb 26, 2016 however the email is dated Mar 2, 2016. Not sure which date is actually my CC date. Hoping for my husband to get his interview date soon. I'm praying for us all to have a more speedy process. #Jamaica.

Feb 26th is your case complete date. The letter always comes 7 days later.

I have added you to the spreadsheet. There are 3 of you all same CC for Jamaica.

See that's the thing I did call and was just told how much the physical exam will cost. I also mentioned that I have kids. I feel deceive in some way. They had all required vaccine for here in Belize. They were up to date. She blindsided me with this vaccine and told me I could not continue with the medical unless the kids get the vaccine.

She said it is required for them to go to school. I just don't feel right about it something seems off. I asked her if I could take the kids to get it down locally and she said No they don't have it in our clinics.

I guess there is no way to find out if I was lied I also wanted to come back and she informed me that she was leaving the country on Wednesday and won't be back until The 12th. My interview is the 17. I felt trapped to let them get it and pay for it. I didn't have all the money so our medical had to stay there until I pay.

This is the name of the vaccine Meningococcal.

Hi Bzegurl - I don't have kids but i do know that the Meningitis (Meningococcal) shot is a required vaccine for schools here in the US. I don't know how old your kids are but I think you have to be a certain age to get it.

Unfortunately, the kids do have to get all the shots as required by immigration for the U.S by a US Immigration approved panel physician. The list of all required vaccinations for the US can be found on the FAQ's page of the Dept of State Website:

I know all of this adds up and takes a dent on the wallet. I'm not looking forward to seeing/hearing how much it's going to cost my husband for his vaccinations.....he doesn't have any medical records to take with him and he doesn't remember what he's had already. he may have a very expensive bill at the end of it all.

Yes, you can start working. When you enter the US the CBP officer will stamp your passport with a I-551 stamp. that is your temporary green card. When you start working, your HR person will use that when filling out your new hire paperwork. I say this, because I'm HR and have had to do this when I do new hire orientation. Once you get your green card, just make sure you update with HR because the I-551 is usually valid for about 1 year and that's only because you should have your actual green card before then.

As at Dec 2009, the following vaccines are currently required for U.S. immigration:

• Mumps
• Measles
• Rubella
• Polio
• Tetanus and diphtheria
• Pertussis
• Haemophilus influenzae type B (Hib)
• Hepatitis A
• Hepatitis B
• Rotavirus
• Meningococcal disease
• Varicella
• Pneumococcal disease
• Seasonal influenza

Kids usually get the DPT, HepB, Hib and Polio vaccines at 2mths, 4mths and 6mths during clinic visits after birth. The DTP (diptheria, tetanus, pertussis) shot is also given at 18mths and again at 4-5yrs old. The MMR (measles, mups, rubella) is administered at 12mths and again at 4-6yrs old.

My kids are 8 and 6 and the above vaccines were all administered in the time they were supposed to get them. You can go thru the list and compare with your kids' immunization card to determine what they did not have and what the physician probably charged the extra US$200 for.

I hope I was able to bring you some clarity since I know how expensive all these things can be especially from a country like mine where the US dollar is slowly becoming a phantom. Besides, I think we are the only applicants on this forum who are taking our kids across as well...I could be wrong but I am 99.9% sure
