You know it. I prayer over this blessed thread daily. Thank you for the prayers and warm wishes We are happy. But like my husband says "until I get Visa in my hand than I will exhale". I know what he means I still jump every time i get a email to my dwheels76 cuz that's the email the embassy has.

So no tickt to be bought for the nxt 2 weeks than we get to spend lots of money but it will be joyous spending.

Yeah understand!

Until the visa will be in hand, its better idea not to book the flight.

But now you have nothing to worry or take a big stress (leave that to us haha)

God bless!!

Hey guys,

I was just reading a review from the French consulate and someone who had their interview few days ago were asked about the 2015 tax return.

I was just wondering I had a checklist after NVC issued the interview letter saying that I should bring the 2014 W2 to the interview with me.

The thing is that I do have the 2015 tax return too with me but it's only on the petitioner's name ?

Would I get into trouble at the interview ?

Thanks

Update: My husband he left yesterday to go to Lagos to drop off his passport at the DHL collection center. That's an 8 hour bus/car ride. He got there to late since the center closed at 4pm. Dang it. :protest:

So this morning he text me good morning said he was getting ready. Text here and there throughout the day. "Too many people, its hectic. Now trouble". Trouble I say, Now he just said to me an hour ago "Baby they rejected the drop off application and passport. Let me call you and explain". :ranting:

My head is swirling I am sick to stomach all a sudden. Now I hear the beats (music thumpin) of his car. No way who is driving my hubbies car.

IT IS HIM. That sneaky man.

With the biggest smile he gets out the car. I knew I just got played. :wow::rofl:

Passport submitted yesterday he got there before 4pm. They gave him the papers where to pick up VISA in 10 days.

If I wasn't so happy and relieved I would kick his butt. LOL (L) Love this man.

LOL! He got you!

Congratulations!

So do I need another police clearance for interview in Ghana?

Long as you had PCC in to NVC before expiring. They are all good for 1 year. So no you don't need a new one.

I know I'm getting ahead of myself, but I'm a planner and like to be prepared. For those that took your medical exam already this is for you.

I was looking at the Medical Exam PDF on Mumbai consulate's website and if my husband were to get all the vaccinations listed on that document plus the Basic Exam Cost and the one time vaccine administration charge...he would be spending almost $250.

My husband doesn't have any of his medical history records. He does remember getting a Hepatitis shot a few years ago in Africa, but again no record. the only record he has is the vaccination for Yellow Fever.

Would he be able to go to his own physician and get a blood test that may show what he has immunization to and take that to the Medical Exam? i'm trying to figure out an alternative so he doesn't have to get more shots and pay more than he really has too.

I wouldn't worry about it. The IRS has rules for filing for a non resident spouse, which is completely optional and oftentimes not beneficial. I filed as Head of Household because I have dependent children for this one, and for my first marriage I filed as single and didn't have any issues - it wasn't even brought up. With the tax return and the AOS, they're more concerned that the numbers match than anything else.

My guess is that whoever told you that was concerned about "proof of commingling assets" and filing a joint tax return is one way (of many) to do that. However, if your spouse is going to have to apply to remove conditions after arriving here, the tax thing could be an issue (for the tax years following your spouses arrival).

Definitely send an email to the embassy for verification but in the meantime relax a bit knowing that it really shouldn't be an issue. :)

I had my husband go to his physician and get titres done to prove immunity (this is what you'd use to show proof of immunity in the absence of a vaccine record) and had his missing vaccines done while we're waiting. Depending on the vaccine, there might be additional doses required a few months apart so keep that in mind. Whatever is done at his physician's office prior to the medical exam becomes part of his medical record which he'll take to the exam.
